    Hey Ladies and Gents,

IMHO, spending money to a migration agent is a waste of time and resources.
Because it all boils down to your qualification and the priority list of IMMI.gov.au
No matter how much money you throw during the application process, it's not gonna help you at all.
RML, your qualification and IMMI priority list is the key, and nothing else.

Do not waste your money, please.

    cheers,
    Bisaya Dako

take also into consideration those people whose schedule are so busy but they have the money to pay for an agent.
good thing about having an agent is that your documents are screened very well such that when it fails during application, they refund you with your money.
downside also of applying in your own is that, when your documents are rejected by the immigration, you have to re apply and pay again the next time you lodge your visa.

bottomline is, if you think you are confident enough to apply in your own, wether you have money or not, Just do it yourself...

NIA (National Institute of Accountants) is one of the assessing body for us accountants.
they will be the one to assess us if our degree would be in accordance to the degree in Australia.

I think their assessment fee is AUD350.00 around P15,000.00 and they will give you feedback after 8 weeks if you passed. haven't finished yet gathering the required documents.

it's good that migration agents refund you if you fail. But still the lodgement fee is not refundable. So it's the same thing as lodging the application yourself. Who knows the migration agent will run away and disappear with your money . Now, that would be a double disaster.

Let me give you more info why using agents isn't gonna help you at all. Every year IMMI updates their Priority List of the Professions that Australia needs. Each profession has corresponding points in it. Let say if OZ needs more Nurses next year than Electrical Engineers, then the Nursing profession has bigger points than EE profession. If you are an EE and say you lodge your application, spending money for a migration agent is not gonna help you get more points compared to the Nurses. Remember, this is just an example. All the detailed info is at IMMI website. That's why you must READ and UNDERSTAND what is printed at the IMMI website.

There are many more factors that affects your application namely; your age, your work experience, English language, where you want to live in OZ, etc. These things has corresponding points. By just following the IMMI steps/procedure, then you are halfway there.

Your documents will not be rejected for as long as you follow the IMMI procedures and that your documents are not fake. Again READ and UNDERSTAND what is on the IMMI website.

    cheers,

if you are still young, get more qualifications. If you can get an overseas scholarship, then that would be even better. Overseas scholarship was my stepping stone because I came from a poor family.

IT/COMPUTING in Pinas is the same as in OZ. The PC, the OS, the softwares, are the same (my advice, be an expert on Linux). Engg degree in OZ can be finished in 3 years. But they don't have stupid subjects like what we have in the Pinas, e.g. Pilipino, humanity, sociology, etc. Thus, Pinas Engg degree would take at least 4 or 5 years.
