kanang advertisement sa Tide, i'm a bit concerned lang.
most of the time ang mga bata man gud karon ,sila-sila nlang mag tan-aw ug TV.
gamay na kau higayon nga family jud ang manan-aw.
kung ang bata lang ang mo analyze, sayop jud ang 1>2!
and mas ma confuse jud sila kay gi emphasize man jud nga 1 is really greater than 2.
if the children CANNOT completely see the advertisement AND parents won't be able to explain it to them, it will create a different impression.
to think nga kaning mga advertisement, ibalik-balik baya jud.
naa man cguroy lain paagi pag advertise. i mean, with respect sa mga advertisers.
there should be a consideration of logical explanation sa ilang mga ads.
because 1 will never be greater than 2! bisag naa pay explanation sa tumoy sa ad.

    << that's just my concern >>

What children see on TV may reflect their thoughts,I think most ads fail to see that

To be honest, I think that this is a minor issue that being blown all out of proportion.

Overall, it can be said that mistakes are made-- intentionally, unintentionally, only the producers of those commercials can really say. I must agree with the general sentiment that commercials are not there to educate but sell products, they can even twist the truth or turn around facts in order to sell their products. Gosh they do it so often enough even in the past. Nothing new, hey, it's business.

I guess it's best that no matter how people can come up with dumb concepts, it's best to have one's own personal initiative to remain smart about such things. Besides if one is taking the matter seriously, there is a better forum to air one's grievances than here. There's the Advertising Board of the Philippines that regulate and screen the content of advertisments.

If it bothers you that much, then do something about it. Don't vent your anger on people who are just sharing their opinions on the matter. If one wants to make changes, then it's best to take some action and approach the people who can make those changes happen.

Download the ADBOARD's manual of its CODE OF ETHICS here and build a case against those advertisers who use "stupid concepts" to sell their products.

Something can be done. After all, didn't the Philippine government ban all advertisements regarding to smoking?

LOL. im laughing with you too. Please read diem's reply and focus on the first paragraphs. Also, read the one in bolds.

Anyways, parents should instill on their children's minds that commercials are only to advertise products. If children emulate what they see on TV, then its partly the parent's fault for not guiding them. You said yourself you wanted well-raised children, shouldn't it be your responsibility to make them so and not "whatever-Board-is screening-the-commercials"? Then part of your responsibility is to guide them about these matters.
