you can post all sorts of benchmarks from Intel sponsored sites, but it wont be enough to derail AMD users from upgrading to another AMD. I myself is looking forward to my next cpu, which is the Opteron, hopefully, prices would go down, thanks to your Conroe thing, and if Opteron prices go down, Athlon64 will follow, ranging from P5500, which is really a good buy.

Next, these benchmarks are truly synthetics because Conroe is not yet available. Specs could changed and other hardware issues will arise, affecting overall performance. 6 months is really a long while to wait for your word "regained" to take form. It could be true, it could be not. Athlon FX60 exist in the market, users have it in their pc's, and they write personal reviews about it, based on their experienced. This is what benchmarks should be.

AMD does not have a Developer Forum of their own, and they do not evangelize their upcoming products nearly as much as Intel does. While AMD does attend the Fall and Spring Processor Forums, they mainly keep a lot of their upcoming information to themselves. Only rarely do we hear about the true, next generation parts from AMD (like the initial announcement of K7, or that AMD taped out their first dual core processor). AMD does let things slip from time to time though.
