first of all, since lisod ni sya i-explain, we have to know that the incubation period (time when ang virus nag replicate pa sa muscles and nag sugod pag travel padung sa brain, basically the entire CNS) of rabies varies from several weeks, months and even years. And during the incubation period, even if gipaak ka ug dog with rabies, basta naa pa sa incubation period, it is safe to assume na wala pa ka na infected sa virus since ang virus wala pa na sa laway sa iro. At this point, the animal seems healthy pa.

It is only in the later stage of the disease, when the virus is present in saliva, dha pa na sila maka infect nimo ug rabies.

next, let us also understand na wala sila namatay tungod kai nakapaak sila ug tao.

Namatay ang dog because after the incubation period naabot na ang virus sa brain sa iro, and nag cause na ug encephalitis (inflammation sa brain) and brain damage to a wide extent causing the paralysis, hydrophobia and other signs and symptoms that wud eventually lead to comatose and death.

its either nakakuha ang puppy from the mother kay ang mother naay contact with another rabid animal or ang puppy itself ni come in contact with a rabid animal other than its mother.

incubation period... remember na infected lagi ang bitch ug rabies virus pero di na sya diha diha dayon mamatay. kanang 3-5 days nga gpasabot mao na ang tagal sa dog kun ni manifest na sya ug signs and symptoms of rabies. and given 3-5 days, that is more than enough time to transmit the virus to the puppies and even to humans.

hi guys..
i'd like to ask what are the chances of a puppy getting infected by rabies 3 months after his rabies shot? my pup has been the most docile and gentle of all my dogs then suddenly this afternoon he turned hostile and violent.. he even bit my 4 year old nephew!

Dad-a dayon ang bata sa ospital unya patirahi ug anti-rabies... ayaw pagdua-duha... it's better safe than sorry. regarding the pup, why man na-hostile sya ron? Maka-mingle bana sya ug bisaya ni binuhi-an?
