@kwicksilver:
your assumptions are arrogant and baseless. please include the facts that support your claims, otherwise, we can conclude that what you are doing is just PURE FANBOYISM. amd x2's are long outpaced by c2d's. for a fact, an overclocked amd fx-62 could be easily be defeated by a 2-year-old c2d e6600.
don't get me wrong, i am not an intel cronie. hard facts just state that intel's c2d's outpace amd athlons,or phenoms, for that matter.
the threadstarter asked: which is better x2 or c2d?
plain and simple... c2d.
nowhere can the top x2 bring down the top c2d. period.
sorry amd fanboys, the crown has been taken, two years ago. we don't know when amd will take the crown again, maybe soon. but for now, accept the fact that the core 2 microarchitecture really kicks ---!

tinood ni for the most part, but at stock settings in the low-end category (processors priced between 2k - 4k), the X2's beat the pentium dual cores, like say the e2160 vs x2 4400+. most good review sites show the same benchmark results. as for any processor above 4k, intel beats anything amd has to offer. especially if you overclock, the e2160 can beat all of the current dual core processors. perhaps the only other good thing going for amd is that decent motherboards are also cheaper than the intel counterparts, especially those with integrated graphics which are better than what intel has to offer (medyo OT because amd vs nvidia na man ni nga issue)Originally Posted by EarlZ

im not saying AMD is dead..GOD forbid that to happen!
its just intel at the moment ROCKS!
from the entry level PD E2*** series to the monster LGA771 x 2socket SKULLTRAIL C2Q97** series.
amd simply lag a lot way behind..but im crossing my fingers too..hoping AMD will rise again..
and then the salivating C2Q x series will hopefully be available @ SUB PhP 10000.00 price range.
in the end..consumers win..
now...give thanx to intel C2D...ur AMD X2 5000+ is very affordable....( b4 X2 4800+ cost about $700 ++ )
