i think aikido is good but due to the commercialization of this art, ang ubang session di na kaayo tarong.
dli pud kaayo realistic ang knife attacks sa randori, depende sa imo kuyog pero kung sagol ka sa black ok.

in terms sa self defense ok uban techniques ug locks pero naa pud uban na dili practical especially defense against knife. mo work ra siguro kung wlay alam imo contra. pero if you are against an experience attacker ( tulisan ) delikado labi na kato double hand catch. dali kaayo ma clip.

if you want to really test your aikido skills try friendly sparing with FMA students makita nimo ang weakness sa uban techniques sa aikido. it will open your mind. nindot combine your training.
dont stick to one art, absorb all the best techniques it may one day save your life.

aikido is very effective just like other martial art disciplines. what made it a little different is it's approach. it is a passive martial art by nature which means it is peaceful and non-aggressive in most ways but is still very deadly.

is aikido the same w/ korea's haikido (not sure bout the spelling)?

i watch the fight quest @ discovery channel.. i happen upon the episode where they were in korea.. i really liked it's move.. mostly the defense throws..

can anyone enlighten me? hehe..
