Video Editing is not as demanding in graphics card compared to 3d development and animation.
However the processor is a big deal. Go for quad core or dual core wolfdale. Midrange graphics card is ok. Choose Radeon graphics cards for more accurate colors and image quality.
Although my only experience in video editing is converting AVI files to DVD and ripping dvds and all those stuff. Faster processor is usually faster in transcoding videos.
If you are serious about your work and want a system that you are going to use a while, I'd go with at least 8GB RAM, solid state main HD + 500GB storage HDs.
SSD = win
Yes, basta video editing or anything that involves rendering.... the number one work load will be on the processors... the bigger the better, many the cores or CPUs the better.
RAM only increases like... 50% of your total rendering time... where as the bigger the processing power... it can probably give you a 200% boost in rendering time.
The RAM only stores for faster accessing... but the CPU does all the work... and Video RAM is also very much a help in playback performance.
Get a MAC PRO... 2006 models have 2 CPUS both Dual Core.... total of 4 CPUs. New MAC PROs have 2 CPUS both have QUAD COREs... total of 8 CPUS.
And plus... you can run windows on a MAC unit via BootCamp.
Well, and if you want.... you can buy a HP or IBM server... and make it a workstation for you... heheheheat least they have all the processing power you need... and totaly windows platform...
Best of all if bugget wise.... Get a Intel Core 2 Quad processor.... the rest of the specs is up to you....![]()
=thanks sa inputs!
SSD in RAID0 = clear winner for drive c:
hehhehe
but 40k ra ang budget...
for video and graphic editiing pyts na au na imo budget for a kick ass rig...
my suggestion go for quadcore proc nya imo ram patas.e kung mahimo ang 8gig ok jud au na...
since you're using editing application, the program's best performance will be experienced if mugamit ka ug multi processing unit..
then next is your Vcard, if kaya pa sa budget i suggest for a Vcard thatsupports crossfire.. like you said masdaghan ug muthink much better..
hmmmm last kani important sad imo hdd, well kung you're just editing pictures aw ok ra 80-160G will do well it depends sad bcn daghan jud dai au ka ug ipangsave... and as for video editing hmmmmmmmm well kung kaya ang 1Tbyte na hard disk cge gowwwwwww.. btaw depende rana nimo bro if unsa kadaghan imo isave kaw nlang mag.igo sa mem size
sa imo HD..
hehehe

the 8800GT isnt needed.
jz an advise.. core 2 quad lang bro.. 2gb x 2 = 4gb ddr800 ram, 512mb video pci-ex card.. try asus p5k series mobo.. and of course, your power supply must be stable.. use silverstone brand or dynamo.. its a good brand.. and for your monitor, better use CRT not LCD. its more crispy graphics comparing to the lcd. for ur 40k budgeting. try calling cebu a.i logic - 4126116 / 6117 maybe they cud help you..
