who contributed much on OPM alternative?? Rivermaya or Eraserheads?

i'd rather say Eheads........ bands of today all sounds like eheads even some of bisrocks famous bands..

dili tungod amigo mi ni ely but E heads have had more influence on pinoy rock. just listen to the styles of parokya and other current bands and you will see the influence. Whenever local bands compose tagalog songs, e heads style dayon ang buhaton.
Ang rivermaya kay puros lang copya ang ilang style. They started copying the dawn, nya recently pina U2.
214 however nice ang song ripped the guitar riff from a ritchie Sambora solo album. But not to say dili cla creative, its just that obvious lang ilang mga sources, and their good songs are all in english, whenever tagalog na gani, eheads style dayon.

E heads is the reason why ang platinum album sa philippines gi himo ug 100,000 copies instead of the former 40,000 copies sold kay i think electromagneticpop sold about 200,000 copies while all the tracks from that album was a hit.
That's how influential cla, Electro sold more albums than "shout for joy" ni Gary V who was considered then as the top music artist of the philippines. As a point of comparison, at that time the biggest band was Side A, was charging about 150T per major concert and they were doing about 4 in a year, in comparison, E heads were getting 30T per concert and they were doing 2 concerts a week!

I know those guys kay pareho mi BMG artists, Eheads, Rivermaya. and we did gigs together.

In terms of playing abilities, much better ang rivermaya, kay bulay-og man to ang E heads, but the songcraft definitely leans towards the E heads being topnotch songsmiths, and people watched them play the songs that touched peoples' lives and not because they were great players or singers.
That is why Ely got a lifetime achievement award from awit awards before he was 40 yrs. old.

used to be the eheads. ther are a lot of bands that sound like the eheads now.

now rivermaya because they are still around and spreading it.

i hope bamboo also steps and releases more music. just so that they can get proper revenge on rivermaya, music-wise
