A Legendary band.
Africa still admires me whenever I hear it on the Radio.
I'm always fascinated by bands whose vague band name doesn't represent any member of the band(like Styx, Sheila and the Insects, Biffy Clyro, Bishop Allen or Sleater-Kinney) but im just curious here. Is "Africa" a metaphor for an impoverish african-american girl steve lukather sleep with or is it a metaphor about the sad state of the continent??
In which case, one can never really question the ingenuity or social relevance of this song. Africa is the Jesus Christ of rock ballads.
I've always adore this band and their songs. I don't get tired of listening to them everyday.
