ah I see. basin inig abot ana na time frame, naa'y nice na GPU napud na maabot... a GPU tweak perhaps sa current line ron from both AMD and Nvidia... karon naa ko diri's atoa, maka ingon ko na mahal2x ug prices diay diri then limited kayo ang choices. kay limited man atoang choices, mamili gyud ta's atoang ganahan ug swak sa budget para dili mag sige'g kasakit... kasakit ug "upgraditis"...

unsa man gani diay ang imohang case? basin ma improve ma nimo pa sya bro in terms of the airflow or, you can install a 3rd party GPU and/or CPU coolers (water cooled... either closed or open system. watch out lang ka aning open system. nice tan-awon pero, hassle ang maintenance. kun tapolan ka mag huri-2x ug maintain, better go w/ the closed loop system) kun tan-aw nimo na dili gyud matabang ang temp sa kwarto nimo...

Ang GTX 1070 naay issues sa ram, naa toy fix ambot lang ma fix ba, ang gamit ram kay micron. Pag 1060 nalang or 1080 then ayaw pag evga, avoid micron ram.

Kung dli problema ang budget change to silverstone casing mas better ang air flow.

dili man 0.5 GB VRAM ang memory sa 970... but, instead of 4 GB... 3.5 GB na lang ang usuable... kaning 3.5 GB, more than enough ra ni sa 98~99% na mga gaming titles at Ultra GFX setting. naa lang gyu'y pipila na mga games na mang lamoy ug vram maong even @ 1080p labi na high textures naa impact kay mogamit naman sa system memory ang games instead of the VRAM. mas hinay ang mem swapping sa system mem compared sa VRAM's direct access...

on paper, kun mag basa ta, grabeh kayo ang impact sa nawala na 0.5 GB pero in real world gaming, basta dili lang katong mga mamaw ug GFX textures ang games na mo kaon ug more than 3 GB VRAM like Skyrim & others or those higher gaming resolutions like 4K (even 2K and even 1080p on certain games that needs high textures), diri ra nato ma kita ang difference sa lacking 0.5 GB VRAM. but, if mag padagan ta'g benchmarking software like FRAPS (mo kaon pud ning resources) or others, diri nato makita ang difference...

pero, kun subra ka init ang GPU, dili na mo overheat but mo throttle down na sila. daghan kayo protection ang GPUs. naa sila'y OCP (over current protection), OVP (over voltage protection) and OTP (over temperature protection). pero, kun mo throttle down sila tungod sa kainit or mo function ang protection nya, aw, mo drop ang fps sa games. kun ubos ang pag drop, lag ang atoang paminaw which is not good during immerse gaming...

sa akoa nang gi disclosed, akoang main gaming rig kay naka GTX 670 SLI @ 2 GB VRAM each @ 1080p... in actual use, kay naka SLI man ni sila, 2 GB VRAM ra ang magamit sa software then kun mag need na'g more than 2 GB VRAM, ad2 na mogamit sya sa system mem. naka 16 GB ang system mem nako pero, pang display ra ni. hehehe... ang mga games, dili mo gamit (100% utilization) sa ani na mem capacity. kun mag swap na ang games sa system mem, dili gani maka abot ug 4 GB max sa karon na mga duwa. wla ra gyu'y problema ang fps nko. it's buttery smooth at my gaming resolution. all of them were set to the games highest GFX setting. mga games nako kay mga bug-at na games... mao ni sila to mention some... Farcry 3 (all DLC), Farcry 4 (some DLC), Crysis 3 (all DLC), Witcher III (all DLC), BF3 (all DLC), BF4 (all DLC), Shadow of Mordor (all DLC)... pwerte pang daghana nako'g games from Ubisoft, Steam & Origin. hunong usa ko'g pamalit kay dako nag gasto... hehehe... unya, ning hunong ko'g games sa PC kay nanambok ko... hahaha... back to biking usa...

but sa mga upcoming gaming titles, kaning 2 GB VRAM, kulangon na ni gyud sa mga heavy GFX games. ang pangutana, when ang time na dili nata satisfied sa 2 GB VRAM GPUs kay kanus-a maabot? kana ganing mo kamang na gyud sila kay bisan mag swap sila sa system mem, mo kamang na kay ubos kayo ang fps sa game. mao ni ang time na kaming naka 2 GB VRAM GPUs pa, mag kisi2x na'g upgrade. kun dili ani ni maabot aw, stay put usa ko's GTX 670 SLI...

sa kani na negative hobby nato... duha ang maka lagot kayo na huna2xon... sa akoang personal experience kay mao ni...

dili man 0.5 GB VRAM ang memory sa 970... but, instead of 4 GB... 3.5 GB na lang ang usuable... kaning 3.5 GB, more than enough ra ni sa 98~99% na mga gaming titles at Ultra GFX setting. naa lang gyu'y pipila na mga games na mang lamoy ug vram maong even @ 1080p labi na high textures naa impact kay mogamit naman sa system memory ang games instead of the VRAM. mas hinay ang mem swapping sa system mem compared sa VRAM's direct access...

No point guro ug mag upgrade ko to 1060 gikan 970 hahaha. Ang 1080 mahal ra kaayo 1070 man apas nako kay 980ti performance pero 970 price range (2014) standard. i doubt 2017 ang new line ups boss wala pay 1080ti. So far ang GPUs ga release ug new architechs every 18 or more months ako lang ni bana2. Nya kanang huwat2 next line up sa gpu cge nalang ta huwat ana kay di nagyud ko mu palit ug gpu nga walay reliable reviews pa nag tago2 pa ang mga issue. So, mahulog napod tag mag huwat sa reviews nya mu ana napod tag "huwat nalang sa sunod gpu line up" cge nalang ta huwat ana boss hahaha

I-honor man ni sa manufacturer kun ma igo ta ani na manufacturers fault. mao bitaw naa'y warranty. no worries ra gyud na bro. ako bitaw, one of my MSI R9 270x Hawk ning hagtos man. gi ilisan ra man ko's MSI ug new GPU. nahitabo ni's Shanghai. pas2x kayo did2. in less than 2 weeks time, naabot nko ang replacement GPU w/out a cost. even the shipment is free...

just to share lang diay... dili mo honor ug international warranty ang mga board partners. kun asa nato gipalit ang mobo or GPU, ad2 ta mo claim sa warranty via the shop kun asa nato gipalit or direct sa ilahang distributors.

Ahh tingala man gud ko asa gikan ang Overheating protection hahaha pero delikado kaayo ang EVGA nanggi sunog gyud. Ako lang nuon cguro ni pero id rather buy man gud ug nag aged na ang mga components nya nka beta test natong mga pre order RKs haha aysa ko mu palit. Dili ko ganahan nga ako ang isa sa mga mu report about issues mag hasol2 pa ug pa warranty naa pagyud chance naay lain component madamay sa issues. Plus what if ang issue random ang occurrence mag brick inig humana ang warranty ang GPU gipalit good for 1 year ra haha.
