Rome too..... the eternal city of Italy has very few hi-rises.
Most of Europe don't have many high rises...... pero rich sila ha.... fully developed countries.

Los Angeles don't have too many high rises too...... gamay lang ang area sa ilang dense high rise skyscraper... most are badass midrises.... pero their city is so developed and modern.

Those high rises will come later.... what's important is sustainable development that can span for many generations. A land that is taken cared of by dwellers and not raping it till dry......

Kung kabalo lang ka unsa ka environment conscious ang mga tao diri..... ready mo sacrifice ug dagkung investment para lang ma maintain ang balance sa ecology. Duda gani naku mao nang reason nganung gi set aside sa ang pag himo ug Davao-Samal bridge kay dili pa ka supports ang infra sa Samal. Planning is very important observing/studying others what went right or wrong to theirs so that right here it will be perfect.

Thats great. im hoping in the future if Davao will have high rise buildings (which probably they have), they will still preserve the natural resources not just thinking of infrastructures, industrial plants, taxes they could get from the projects because if they will neglect it then wala na silang pinagka iba sa mga polluted na urbanized cities ng Pinas. If Davao in Mindanao will put these projects into reality, then some cities nearby will get some ideas and make Davao as their model.

BUT which is considered as Big Apple? Paris ba? New York has lots of high rise buildings makes them the center of attraction when it comes to businesses.

So ikaw bro, unsa imo basehan why best city ang Davao sa RP? let us weigh it down considering Rance (one of the istoryans here) enumerated his probable criteria in becoming the best city.

So what are the criteria that makes Davao the "Best" city in the Philippines today? in terms of processing zone? Clark is #1 then Cebu has two major MEPZ. In terms of 5 star Hotels? Shangri-La Hotels has 2 in the Phils in Manila and in Cebu Marriott and Hilton and others. Major developments? infrastructures? Manila developed a lot of access toll roads as well as in Cebu there is South Reclamation Project which has a lot of potential. Biggest mall in Asia? Mall of Asia is in Manila and soon in Cebu SRP the second biggest mall in Asia will be developed. Asian Summit was held in Manila and in Cebu - why is it that these are not the point of business interest in Davao? in terms of beaches have you been to Malapascua? Badian? or maybe in Lapu-lapu Island? in terms of Foreign Direct Investments? some 500 Fortune companies has presence in Cebu and not even in Manila. Business Process Outsourcing contractors the higest numbers are in Manila and next is Cebu. In terms of Universities - Manila has the most prestigious universities the big 3 and Cebu is next to the number of universities in the Phils. There should be a clear facts why this thread is claiming Davao is the "Best" city in the Philippines.

Depende ra na how things will be perceived. If people are mature enough then they should learn instead because this thread have opened up to more insights that are actually beneficial to both cities because it reveals both strength and weakeness and from there learn to make things much better for both cities.

And I have observed some Cebuanos who reacted admirably even to it and have shown nobility in character. They truly deserve admiration and respect. Pwera lang tong mga mabaw paminsar nasina, kay ang mga sinahon man gud pinatago man na nga mas hambug, pamati nalamangan lang sa undeniable facts maong nasuya. Gidamay pa ang ilang mayor, pero I don't think your mayor cannot be as immature as the suyaerong poster.

I didn't even expect that this website being from Cebu (in which am not even officialy aware of) will be made an issue, that could probably be one of the most ridiculous turn of events if such were the case. Not unless the word 'Cebu' is written on the url address then ethics would be an issue, pero wala man so it means open to all for an even more dynamic interaction from around the country and even the world and that's how the site presents itself rather than claiming to be a purely Cebu website. Besides this is the internet culture where it transcends beyond boundaries and the website actually presents itself as open to broad discussion on various issues ika nga "more than just talk," so that would be an awkward thing to stoop down from what it stands for. It is even admirable for the creators to be cosmopolitan and broad minded in their presentation of the site. Mabaw ra siguro'g paminsar nang gatubay.
