Let's not be too hasty in condemning Luther but his outright denial of the book of James being part of the canon has only contributed in his rather "debaucherous" methods. The idea of "once saved, always saved" is irrational. That is a practical license to do anything no matter how evil, since, after all, it won't make any difference in temrs of one's salvation. And that's exactly what happened to Martin Luther. He justifed all sorts of debauchery, since it didn't make much difference in one's salvation.
"Once saved, always saved" is a direct contradiction of the verses quoted above. The idea is NOT Christian at all.
God bless!
In fact Paul and James complement each other. Wished he saw that.
Sakto bitaw giingon niya.. no religion can save us. bsan pa og Born again ka or RC or whatever religion you may have.. that is why it's a good thing nga ang salvation is a personal matter.Â* but i personally believe (i'm not a theological extremist, simple ra pud ko nga tawo! ) that when it comes to this.. there's no such thing as "in".Â* Kung muabot na ang day nga mag marka og 666, nya "in" na cya.. apil sad diay ta ana?Â* kay "in" mana.Â* balimbing kaau na.Â* but if you view it that way.. then have it your way..Â* i have mine.Â* diba? as what i've said.. this topic is getting overrated.Â* well in the end magkitakits bitaw ghapon ta, dba?Â* well, kung naay naning dinhi.. well let them be.. personally i'm always in a struggle everyday.Â* naa pman gani RC nga mas buotan pa nko.Â* and it's a great example.Â* and i don't feel humiliated.. it motivates me to be a better person.Â* i've also known RCs dat knows the scriptures well.Â* and it's great to know people are reading it.Â* but kani nga topic.. it's getting personal in each post.Â* kung gusto jud mo og debate with atheist.. to test your expertise on this topic adto mo neatvibe.com ay!Â* adto christian controversy! hala, pang convince to mga atheists didto nga former christians nga naay uban perte ka maau sa bibliya.Â* taas na oi.. duty pko! lol!Â* respect!Originally Posted by MrBiddle

But what seems to be building walls here is an issue of heterodoxy and authority which Meganda, Dacs and Von!-X are bringing up. Of course what Obese is telling us about the geopolitical horizon being laid out in the OT, the holocaust, the destruction of the temple, the empirical origins of the RCC as laid out by Daniel but if we dwell so much on those things it will be just like pondering if Giorgio Armani will be sentenced to eternal damnation because he's a homo.
According to Von-X! the assertions of I.N.K. and R.C.C. are very similar but irregardless of what banner we wave we all profess the same faith here, which is one of the themes of the Pentecostal-Catholic alliance being built-up although Obese seems to be yelling at us to be cautious with the ecumenical movement. Still, we all want to get along. But there will be no real peace until the Prince of Peace comes.Sakto bitaw giingon niya.. no religion can save us. bsan pa og Born again ka or RC or whatever religion you may have.. that is why it's a good thing nga ang salvation is a personal matter
ahh at last murag nalinong linong na gamay ang kalibotan sa kani nga thread....
ive been reading all your posts since the beginning and ive learned a lot from you people! murag balod sa kadagatan nga cge og hapak sa imong nawong samtang nagsud ong sa tunga tunga sa kagabhion!
one thing that i would like to say is that the BIBLE is the supreme source of all our questions about God about the doubts that we have on ourselves on our church and on everybody on everything about our life.
like for S.N.M.P. for example, niingon sya nga kuhaan daw og pursyento kung moadto ka sa uban nga church... well... i think its basically the same raman pud sa RCC nga walay pugsanay... its all up to you... but it was clearly state in the last verses of Malachi that you have to give 10% of your earnings from the harvest of your crops.
and to some point nga naa tay mga questions... me myself i would admit that im not really a Big Bible Reader but for sure there are lots of answers nga imong ma po^po^. Well for sure silang Obese Bo Ricardo og si Dacs and sa katong uban pang mga posters have read their bible and have studed it properly but bisag sila gani dili perfect nga taw nga makatubag sa tanang answers.....
Those are the WORD OF GOD and sometimes we cant interpret it with our own limited human thinking. God's WORDS are so powerful sometimes human failed to understand it. Mao gani tungod ana naay daghang magdebate dili lang dri kundi sa gawas. In which i remember during sundays when i was a kid who is very unlikely at my own age to really watch the debate between brod. soc and iglesia ni cristo.
Now lastly, my point here and my purpose of posting this thread is to have a healthy discussions and maybe i could find a lot of answers.... well indeed there are lot of answers from both sides... and i enjoyed reading it... and i do hope that to those people who keeps on reading this thread would somehow enjoy and learn from it as well. Just open up your mind lang and not basically rely on your own beliefs.... just feel free to accept new ideas and learn how to decode those ideas.... its up to you if you choose to accept it or not.... just dont try to insists those ideas to others coz for sure... they wont.... EVEN if those ideas are really the TRUTH but failed to accept it because of.... well... one of it is PRIDE.......... ill tell you.... you seldom see people concedes because of it......
Thank you, that's it for now.......
In fairness to Non-Bible believing Christians here, allow me to put a quote from Dante, - don't worry he believes in purgatory and he isn't one of the writers of Scripture:ahh at last murag nalinong linong na gamay ang kalibotan sa kani nga thread....

To know the truth one has to be as humble as the dust
-Dante
If pwedi ko musimang, I guess he is the literary author that they named that volcano probing robot-thingy in Dante's Peak with Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton cos alimu-ot daw ang purgatory and mao ang favorite place ni Dante.
Medyo daghan na diri ang nibasa sa posts and perhaps researched separately, which is very good.
Everytime I post sa religious thread mga bro, gi avoid gyud nako ang debates or remarks like, "gahia ug ulo uy", "nganong di man ka kasabot", "pagkabogo nimo", etc... which some of the other posters are doing.
If you read all the posts, you can see nga lahi lahi ta ug punto.
1. Dacs and Houndedbyheaven, asserts the supremacy of the Catholic church and its tradition.
2. Obese Bo Ricardo, is pointing that RCC could not be the true Church as mentioned in the Bible
3. Meganda and me, stresses the importance of salvation through faith, even with the eternal security issue.
4. Richard and n'gel questioned the superficiality of religion although they're opposite each other.
5. Mr.Briddle, and s.n.m.p. started as spectators though throwing punches at non-catholics and then researching na pud on their own, defending the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church.
Even from the start, lisud gyud kon religion na hisgutan.
People like Richard and N'Gel are commended by Paul in Rom. 2: 10 - 12... As James has challenged people who don't take a step further from belief - the first pillar of faith "Show me your faith without deeds. And I'll show you my faith by what I do4.Â* Richard and n'gel questioned the superficiality of religion although they're opposite each other.Â*
although upon reading this thread my naivitee of "maoy kinalapdan mao say sundan" has been shaken, that I admit.... but still, that won't make me cancel my Friendster account. ;b
wahehehehe.
Yup. To the one who works, his reward will be out of obligation and not debt. But for the one who worketh not, his faith in the Son of God who justifies the ungodly is credited as righteousness - Rom. 4: 4, 5. Meganda and me, stresses the importance of salvation through faith, even with the eternal security issue.
But despite this... like I've been saying if I had a wife and I profess fidelity and commitment to her - yet I sleep with other women. What does that make me?
No one can dispute sincere hearts of people like Richard, N' Gel or Soulshocked that question the superficiality of religion. But if I pretended to be a NEW AGE or Gnostic in saying that we can be gods, and all ways lead us to God. What verse in John 14 will prove me wrong?
(providing wala mga "heathen" diri as Dacs has used the term)
hala na-onsa na ni, natakdan nako sa inyong pagka naning!Â*
