Once upon a time, Microsoft dominated the tech industry; indeed, it was the wealthiest corporation in the world. i havent tinkered with Win8 OS so much lately, but whats the fuzz about motherboards having bios update for win8 support? naa bai special features necessary para "reasonable" jud ang paggamit sa Win8? related ni sya sa UEFI? or something else?.
also how to make uefi boot something, to lazy to research for now hehehe...

Personally, I haven't experienced that. I've installed about 5 laptops from different manufacturers and haven't had any need to update the bios.
