    Criminals should be dealt with within the law. Davao must respect the law of the land, there is no death penalty and this type of nonsense brings shame on the country. The president is meeting with world leaders, trying to convince them about the how developed Philippines is and what a good investment opportunity we have....and then this comes on the news?!?! The Aussies must think we are savages.

    @ salbahis: I would be in favor of the death penalty for certain crimes. However what concerns me most is that officials are flouting the laws which they are supposed to be upholding. People like this guy are making a mockery of the judicial system and demeaning the law and the entire country in the process. To broadcast such a statement shows extreme arrogance and a total disregard for rules and procedure. For me this episode is extremely shameful and reinforces the worst stereotypes associated with Philippines.
