Like crap! I am a bit sad for my thread which turned to crap because of some person na feeling moderator! Faet!

Wisdom as a dentist?

Brush your teeth 3x a day or if possible at NIGHT before you go to sleep and by before you go to sleep, I mean DILI NAKA MU EAT AFTER KA MANG TOOTHBRUSH! As in Brush and then sleep! Why night before going to sleep? Because when you go to sleep, your SALIVA does not flow anymore or lessens its flow. (Pwera nalang sa mga lawayun matulog which by the way is not because of over excessive salivary flow but because wala ni position ug tarung na tulog to the point nga OPEN gamay ang mouth.

Wisdom as a decent responsible adult?

Hmmmmm.....

1. Think before you SPEAK, think TWICE before you DO! You will never know who you have trampled on until the damage is done.

2. Always be SAFE! Prevention is better than cure.

3. Always BE YOURSELF!!! I hate PLASTIC PEOPLE!

This is what I answered in a Q&A portion of a pageant I was forced into:

"When I grow up I wanna be a doctor because I want to cure sick people and at the same time contribute progress in our country since we are running out of doctor's because they are going abroad. In my case, I would rather stay here in our country and serve our fellowmen. I thank you!"

Char dot com. Hhaha But I ended up being a dentist or choosing the dental profession. WHY? Because back then I thought mas sayun kaysa being a medical doctor. But then I was wrong. Mas LISOD paman diay! hahaha Anyway, it was my MOTHER's wish gyud for me to be a DOCTOR or to have an anak na DOCTOR kay frustrated doctor man siya.

PROS:

I get to practice my people skills and improve them. Much money per treatment session. You get to meet a whole lot of people and see a lot of diseases of the oral cavity not just in pictures but first hand. Like last week, I had a pregnant patient who had GEOGRAPHIC TONGUE which looks like this:

Another perks to my profession is when you get a positive feedback from patients. It really means a lot to me especially when it comes from kids. Like one time last MARCH, I had a 65-yr-old patient who came in for a full mouth reconditioning, extraction and prosthesis. My boss earned 40k more or less from that patient alone that I handled. (Unfortunately, wala koy ako adto nga pisik maskin gamay man lang maskin consuelo di bobo nalang sa akong kahago.) But then, during our last treatment, the patient figured I was not the owner and I would not receive anything from his payment for my treatment to him, he gave me a GUCCI WALLET with PHP 1,000 inside. It was his appreciation daw for a job well done. FYI, he was actually from the US, a filipino resident there already but just decided to come home to get fixed kay mahal daw kaayo didto ang mgpa Dental! ehhehe

CONS

Well, mahal mag tukod ug OWN CLINIC and the instruments are so mahal and there are so many na dapat e palit. To make things worst, what is new today will be old next year because of the growing profession. Another thing na CONS for being a dentist or planning to be a dentist is it would delay you so much to graduate if you do not know so many people and maglisod ka ug find ug patients na tarung. Tarung in the sense na kung imung sabuton musipot. Hehehhe and another thing, the requirements are grabeh mabungol ka sa ka daghan sa requirements na angay nimo apasun just to graduate.
