Are gays and lesbians normal?

For me lisod ayo mo judge ug tawo using lang sa atong mga biases or pre conceived ideas without even analyzing our criteria.

Let us use conventional criteria to analyze gays and lesbians' behavior;

1. Distress- A person who is displaying a great deal of depression, anxiety, unhappiness, etc. would be thought of as exhibiting abnormal behavior because their own behavior distresses them.

--now tanan ba lesbians or gays nag suffer ani ? In fact daghan ayo malipayon sa ila sexual preference diha sa ato katilingban. Nag suffer lang siguro kay ang society judgemental ayo nila.

2.Morality-descriptively to refer to some codes of conduct put forward by a society or, some other group, such as a religion etc.

--Now tanan ba society o religion ni considera nga immoral ang pag kay bayot o tomboy.? Now kung mag depende ka sa imong tinuuhan ang mahitabo abnormal sa imo sa uban dili. NOw kaning criteria dili absolute ug debatable.

3. Maladaptability-person is behaving in ways counter-productive to their own well-being, it is considered maladaptive.

--Now tanan ba bayot ug tomboy maladaptive. In fact daghan ayo successful sa ilang chose profession nga bayot like Boy Abunda, etc.

4.Standards of society-- Another criterion that has been suggested is that abnormal behavior violates the standards of society.

--In this case tanan tawo abnormal kay halos halos tawo dili perpekto na di mo deviate sa standards?

5.Statistical Infrequency --Behaviors are seen as statistically rare are said to be abnormal.

---Now rare ba ni nga gabaha naman rong bayot sa kalibutan.

6. Deviation from Ideal Mental health-defines abnormality by determining if the behavior the individual is displaying is affecting their mental well-being.

-Again ang naka apekta sa ila mental well being is ang panan-aw sa society nila nga gi considered hugaw o immoral labi na diha sa pamilya nga i disown dayon sa amahan kung bayot ila anak.


Kung unsa man gani ato criteria kinahanglan pa nang tukitukion ang standards o sukdanan. dili lang sa homosexuality apil pa ang human behavior in general.

Definition of NORM from Meriam;

: an established standard or average: as a : a set standard of development or achievement usually derived from the average or median achievement of a large group b : a pattern or trait taken to be typical in the behavior of a social group.

Kung tan awon nimo ang achievement ni Christ, Ghandi, Michael Jordan, Einstein based on the definition of norm we can say that they deviated the average median achievement of a large group statistically. Yes they are Geniuses and they deviated the norm but it doesn't follow that they are abnormal. For me norm is not only the basis or criteria to consider normal/abnormal behavior. In this case it's hard to say homosexuality is abnormal in fact it was removed from DSM as an abnormal behavior.

Based on your comment about hormonal imbalance is a medical criteria/standard. However can you dare to say that homosexuality is abnormal based on medical studies ?. . Morality is also considered as one of the criteria to determine abnormal behavior. But this presents many difficulties, because it would be impossible to agree on a single set of morals for the purposes of diagnosis. Morality is only a part of the criteria.
