how long 'til you shoot METYORS?

i know there are certain things that you can not put on film yet, but i suggest you just shoot it "raw" (hilaw) and then put in the other ingredients in post.

pero like i said in my PM, i'll be very gratified if you meet with me and once you've casted the two characters --- lemme borrow a camcorder (bisag bati ug quality) so i can shoot "liveaction storyboards" or test footage of how i want the scenes to play out.

also, i hope you noted my suggestion of making the protag's internal conflict about not saving his sister when he could. unfortunately he couldn't save Browne in the end, but he made up for it because at least he TRIED.

also, i'm not too worried about discussing this here because as you've noticed, i've held myself back from giving details of the METYORS script. heck, i don't think i gave away the "real" title in here

i hope you don't consider me to be ambitious or irritating, i honestly raised an eyebrow about anyone trying to do a destruction movie, but right now? i'm more enthusiastic than ever.

Remember: let's take the Shyamalanian approach to it

OT: i just did a shoot from the inside of a stalling (and spiral diving) Cessna 152 today. basically stall and recovery exercises. first manouver was petrifying!

um, so when will shooting for METYORS begin?

you know the two big rocks in the script i guess you can get real rocks, set them on fire, and shoot them from the right angle in front of a greenscreen or bluescreen. and then composite it with all the other shots....

i don't know how you're gonna accomplish the showering of the meteor debris though..... ikaw nai bahala!

and for Browne getting killed, i think murag its kind of a stretch na matapsingan sya's meteor unya makaistorya pa siya before dying, so i guess you should just:

make a rock land in front of her, ground explodes, she gets knocked a few feet back, and hits her head hard. that looks like a more plausible way to kill your female character.

so what say you?

the idea i said about shooting two real rocks and setting them on fire as a plate i got from seeing a docufeature about Ken Ralston (from ILM) doing his magical optical printing for a Perrier commercial.

but we're talking about digital compositing here and i guess optical printing is different.......
