Programmers: Why mostly boys?

Daghan man sad programmer / soft. dev. na babae. Just like in our company.
I think cguro the media (tv, movies, etc.) mostly portrays the geeky, techy, programmer as a male.

Dili sa superior mi in the analytical aspect it more like mas inclined mi sa analytical thinking. which goes to say nga mas hilig mi ug programming. and if hilig nimo syempre mas muexcel ka sa usa ka field. It's just the same reason nganong gamay ra ang lalaki nga tourism.

naa kay proof nga mas inclined ang laki sa analytical thinking? i think we need to redefine "analytical thinking" here. i think maong gamay ra laki sa tourism, kay they think it's gay and a computer is masculine. hehehe, IMHO lang ha. sad to say nga naa na gyud gender stereotyping karon sa society pero, i think I made my point.

agree. society has stereotyped programmers to be guys, mao na. but in reality, we're equals.

Sa ako nabasahan saona, ambot unsa mga recent studies ron, na ang female daw maayo sa multi-tasking for example kanang house mom, mas daghan man na sya ug responsiblities compared sa bread winner na ang role is to bring money na ika gasto. ang lalake sad mag lisod ug adapt like kung tagaan sya ug role as a house manager, kanang pareha sa house wife; but ambot lang karon ha. probably mo matter sad ang environment. so context sa programming, i think equal footing kay ang mga babae tungod maayo ug multitasking dali ra ka adopt ug lain na project or ilabay2x ra sa mga projects compared compared sa lalake na focused ra jud ug usa ka project. opinion ra nako ni
