Yep, im in Cebu City now... But the herps are kept in our conservatory in SOS, Sta.Fe., Bantayan Isl. As its quite dangerous to keep them around the house, esp. with the kids running loose.

What i have here in the apt. are only the T.f.flavomaculatus and the T.wagleri (as shown on my avatar). Both extremely hemotoxic, and both with extremely rare anti-venins available. But they look so absolutely stunning and gorgeous, thats why i kept them around as part of my living-room deco...

What cobra(s) do you see in your province? Most typical are the Yellow Phil. cobra (Naja philippinensis) or the King Cobra (Ophiophagus hanah). The Southern Phil. cobra (Naja samarensis) and the Sumatran or the Black Spitter (Naja sumatrana) are although widely distributed, their sightings are far less common that those of the latter two..

    for the hobby, yes...

but ive been keeping the ambly's for quite some time now.. their strangeness fascinates me. maybe i owe it to them that i started into scorps.

Bamboo Pit viper (Tremeresurus flavomaculatus flavomacuatus) and the Temple or Wagler's viper (Tropidoleimus wagleri), both common there in the Phils...
The bamboo viper, named such for its bamboo-like color (they dont live in, on, or around bamboos mind you). While the temple viper was named such because it used to be revered by natives (till now) as a sight of fortune and misfortune, an icon of omen. T.wagleri's common name i believe is "Dupong"...
Both have very strong hematoxic venoms, both are pit vipers, both are arboreal, and definitely both are stunningly, deadly sexy beautiful...

probably a phils. cobra (Naja philippinensis). Where's your province mate? These cobras have the most toxic cobra venom of all cobra species.

ow, mate... ive tasted them scorps for grub, but not the spideys. i hate spiders, makes my skin crawl. even back when i was still in uni., i really detested them.

you guys should try the deep fried spicy scorp (goes about $1/kg. or roughly about 10pcs), its good crunchin! tastes like prawns, especially good with a cold brew on hand... hehehe.

but the scorp, hehey, they're bloody great!! ive just discovered its great to keep them as pets too! ive kept them before, but as lab animals, for their venoms...
