I think on the Pinay's part the reasons are these:
1) Example, USA. Once you marry a citizen, the opportunity of obtaining citizenship is predictable. I think at first you get your green card then apply for citizenship after. In a foreign country like the USA, the job opportunity is vast, knowing us Filipino's we are humble as to what job we take as long as once its converted to Peso its good compensation na, compared to working for the same job here in the Philippines layo ra kaayo, hasta kapila pil-a. Citizenship is definitely one good reason why those Pinay marry foreign husbands, daginoton pa gali maski libat, kay matud pa sa akong Tatay "Bahala na'g libat basta jackpot!"
2) It's a step ahead to financial security, maski pa dili dato imong mabana, provided walay prenuptial agreement, specially kung ang pili-on sa Pinay is kadtong mga senile na nga mapandul na's luwa

once the foreign husband is promoted to glory, automatic ang present wife is the beneficiary sa balay ug yuta or whatever money the husband have at the time of his death. Pray lang si Pinay nga wala'y last will and testament where mapildi siya.
If young pa ang foreign husband then marriage leads to divorce, naa gihapon matiti si Pinay from that divorce, specially sa US from what i heard, the government is pro-wife sa mga divorce settlements. So, money + citizenship = win na win!
3) Genetics, have you noticed? Nindot ang breeding of most Pinay's married to foreign men. Potential dayon mag-artista ang anak

PBB dayon
4) Popularity, whether we admit to it or not, maski and Pinay wiz natin knows nga nagkaon ra diay ug buwad sa other countries, proud dayon ta nga naa ta relative sa gawas. Nya sa part pud sa mga walay paryente, medyo naa gyud silay advantage towards nato, whether its imaginary or not.
Sa part sa Pinay, maski ubos kaayo siya before she married the foreign husband, e.g. maid ra diri, pagbalik ana most of them will behave differently, feeling na kaayo pagbalik nila. Isnabon na pati amo nila

So mao ra na akong observation, bow.
