Aside from the US/China Trade in which Beijing is now enjoying, China is avoiding an influx of refugess from DPRK & South Korea also shares that sentiment. Back in the 80's DPRK is already impoverish & South Korea is Capitaliizng the situation & wants DPRK to change its ways & embrace unity, democracy & freedom; & to unite 2 Koreas into 1 just like what happen to East Berlin.

The French occupied Vietnam after WW II. After a continous onslaught & ambushes the French seek for help big time. 1.) The draft was a wrong decision & It was not our War 2.) They sent Boys w/ less experience & were not well informed about the conflict history thus loosing morale plus Weed, Opium & Woodstock was the latest craze. 3.) There were in-fighting inside the U.S. Administration & have'nt had the patience required supporting an unconventional warfare. 4.) We did not lost the War literally; but only withdrew its troops due to reason # 3.

Korea

Korea campaign was spearheaded by Gen. MacArthur. Just when the General is about to use the Adam Bomb, Russia calls for negotiations for a ceasfire; a ceasefire that can be put in the Guinness Book of world records... A ceasfire that starts June of 1950 & up to this day.

Iraq

If we look past about the Error of the Intel community of WMD's, @ the beginning of the campaign - that was the test of how the U.S. can take on anybody & I Mean anybody. Iraq is the 3rd Largest Military in Modern Warfare. Baghdad fell in just 16 hours.

The problem right now in Iraq is that this present adminstration wants to instill democracy in the Middle East which I think wont work. Since the Intell was so wrong...as the saying goes...

I dont know where you got your figures, but after the US, there are countries like Russia, China, Germany, France, Uk, India, Japan, Turkey, etc. that have WAY more military fire and manpower, and Iraq is actually just 34th on the list...
