The tone of your reply is distasteful and i intend to put you in your place. I am tired of some air-head blabbing about how one software is greater than the other and seeing their work not up to par.
Here is what i proposed.
1) we choose a concept art(feng zhu, conceptart.org or wahtever of your choosing) and we build it.(must be acomplex model. No cartoons)
2)texture and animate the model
3)create a short animation using the model
specifics of the challenge
1) its not enough just to have the model move. It must have a working muscle system (realistic muscle bulging and skin sliding).
2)must be fully animatable. This includes facial articulation.
3)must include dynamic simulation ranging from cloth to bracelets (depends on the model if it has bracelets or hanging armor or cloth)
4)must include hair or fur (depends on the character)
if choose to accept, you must put an update everyday on the progress of your 3d work. This will document your progress and will help others in learning production workflow techniques.you can use any plugins that you like or that is available for 3ds max. I will use only maya native tools and zbrush.
And lastly, the duration of this project will be 3 weeks.if you find it hard you can ask arnelmation to help you out or you can team together. If thats the case, i will team up with noah cain.
And on the side note, if there are others that wants to join, please do so. This will be a great learning experiene.
I have nothing against 3ds max or any other 3d packages, i only have contempt for 3d artist who think that they are better than others because they are using this particular software.
