forex is also a good way to add some cash to your pocket. it's a bit hard though, and risky too. but all these can be learned. i was in the stocks business before, but due to low liquidity with local markets, i opted to trade in forex and e-mini, and i do this for a living.

it's never too late to save. i just don't get it why people can't save. more or less, they just don't want to.

B.S na yang tinitipid mo sarili mo, like your eating in some sidewalk, but at the end of the day, gasto gihapon ka, kay most people are impulsive in nature. makakita ra latest billboard ng clothing line, hala sige, palit dayon.

you should be asking yourselves what do you really wish to achieve? do you end up working all your life? do you want to start a business? if you have a great idea in mind, nurture them and don't create negative ideas that will blocked positive ones. work slowly in making them a reality.

like, "mag-eload kaha ko?", then kalit ra, "aw, wala man tingali mupalit sa ako kay daghan naman ani nga raket." the first statement being a positive with weak conviction, then followed by a negative with slightly stronger conviction, even a conclusion. if your always like that, good luck to you.

    why i left trading stocks:
    - the platform used in local stocks is poorly designed. i can say it's good only for holding long term assets, and not day trading it. there is no automatic stops, trails, and other risk management functions.
    - i realized that i was risking more to gain less. the market is also one way, i can only profit when the market goes up, and wait it out when it goes down.
    - you must have a solid foundation of reading fundamental information so you can easily decide on your trade. local stocks don't adhere too much on technicals due to it's size. most movements are fundamentals and news driven
    - won't fit me as a full time trader that relies solely on trading profits

why i chose forex and futures:
    - lots of risk management features on the platform
    - leverage
    - adheres to technicals
    - major news are easily faded away in just 30 minutes, a strong trend won't reverse just because of some news event
    - hard to manipulate, though that happens to some in the form of stop hunting, you can prevent it by going for an ECN broker with very solid liquidity providers

before you start out investing, try to study the stocks exchange, it's structure, the stocks composing the index, the different sub-index, etc. buy only stocks with solid growth potential. don't waste money on companies that promise growth, chances are, they're just after your money. if i were to invest long term, i'd invest in companies that provides needed services like electricity, telecom, water. banking sector is also good. my dad is one of the original investors in a telecom firm that was established in the 80's. P50/share lang yun before, now it's roughly P1k, and he has yet to sell his shares. the point here is you can start out small, but you should be consistent. exploit your jobs while your at it. i don't mean steal from your boss.. haha.. exploit means use that to your advantage kasi you have steady stream of income and use some portion of it for investing.

*** LASTLY (CAPS NA TO) DON'T EXPECT A LOT. not because ga-invest ka sa stocks, forex, or anu pa man. don't expect that to be an overnight success. just let it flow. there will be hurdles along the way, much better if ma-experience nyo yan ng mas maaga. kasi if puro kita lang nasa isip nyo, then binigay sa inyo yan, baka mag-quit kayo sa work nyo agad and realize that it's a bad decision in the end pag nag-start na humina ang negosyo nyo.

i wont be answering forex specifics questions here since that is already off topic. you may search for the topic thru search feature of this site. im just sharing an opinion of how to have some good income on the side for people who are working. in my case, i don't work anymore.

aside from fx and stocks, you guys can also look into mf and uitf

@ mckoy_slipstream - bai, ask lang ko ba, can you really live off from investments without a stable job? if yes, can you give me an idea how to do it? right now, i can consider na daku ako nabutang sa stocks pero i can't imagine living off it alone in the current situation.
