After Vatican II, the Roman Catholic Church believed that religions are not static cultural entities but are actually dynamic organisms -- spiritual organisms -- and just like biological organisms they grow as well.
In concrete historical terms Nostra Aetate may well be considered the most significant document of Vatican II because it has altered forever the church's attitude toward and relationship with the other religions. It has set the church and these traditions firmly on the path of mutual influence and enrichment.

    .. i believe that there's a God.
.. i have no choice but to accept my Religion ( roman catholic )
.. i don't believe the church as the house of God, since God is everywhere.
.. i don't believe in the words of the priest, since they are the best hypocrites in the world
.. i dont respect Nuns, 2nd in rank in hypocrisy
.. i believe in the Holy Trinity
.. i don't say that Roman Catholic nor any religion is best
.. i respect every religion man has created
.. i dont hear the Holy Mass, since i can talk to God anytime of the day, and i dont want to hear the priest's sermons as if he is Holy and righteous
.. i believe that when we die, that's the only time all our answers will be answered

A person is simply a Theist if he believes in a god but doesn't identify himself with any particular religious group...

or if one identifies himself with a religious group but doesn't fellowship with the members of that group, he is a "candid believer"

or what Websniper might call a "Candid Christian" or a "Candid Muslim", etc.

.. too many definitions. Too many religions. Bottom line: there's only One God. I dont want to waste my time trying to define my "affiliation" with my religion. I was baptized a Roman Catholic, have to accept it, i live my life the way i like it, i dont know if its the Roman Catholic way or not. All i know is im honest with myself. Im a sinner, yes, my soul is burning at the moment. Am i evil?? yes, very. Am i apathetic? damn sure am. When it comes to religion, i dont give a single care to what or which religion a person is in. And to those who try to "define", sorry, but i treat you as hypocrites.

I think this forum is all about what religion has in store ... not how well one practices his religion nor
how hypocrite one is on account of his actions ...

    Peace....

The truth is God is everywhere. a Church in the New Testament is a collective noun which refers to the body of believers who are at once the Temple of the Holy Spiritb...... also "church" was for training in righteousness so that people can fellowship and ponder under the instruction of the Scriptures the ways to be equipped for every good work. c
Worship and salvation is also very clearly defined in the Scriptures.

Sadly, there are some denominations that undermine the authority of the apostles and prophets, there are some here who don't have the essence of "church" but instead imploy the artifice of extra-Biblical rituals and heterodoxal practices instead of genuine fellowship just like the first and early Christians practiced. d

    a. Jn 4: 21 - 24
    b. 1 Cor. 6: 19, Eph. 2: 19 - 22
    c. 2 Tim 3: 16, Isaiah 34: 16 (NAB, ESV)
    d. Heb. 10: 25

    religion and hypocrisy...

    Practice what you preach!
In matters of controversy, speak in love.
    Consider others highly than yourselves!
    Be truthful.
    Be humble.

There are so many intelligent posters in this thread.

Correct. For if someone knew even the most profound mysteries and secrets of God, even if he can prophesy or debate plausibly, if he has not love he is nothing. Without love he would be like a clanging cymbal (See 1 Cor. 13)
