From what I know, the plan was to raise it to 10 but because it would be hard to balance with the current market and budget, they are slowing down the process.. I'd say build trains for the public... and I mean electric light rail transits... no fuel...

P8 is fair enough. When Cebu was having the P6 fare minimum, other provinces are already collecting P7. All Central Visayas provinces minimum fares are set to P8 for the first 5 kilometers and additional P1.20 for every succeeding kilometer instead of the usual P1.40.

But take note, LTFRB is strictly implementing the NO TARIFF MATRIX, NO INCREASE policy. LTFRB is open now (Friday), and on Saturday and Sunday to give way to drivers and operators to secure their matrix.

In the new matrix, the senior citizen and student fare is strictly followed.
