Greetings!

Cebu isn't only growing in terms of industrial development, but also very active in the animal awareness drive. The Cebuano community is now more conscious about proper and responsible animal care. This is generally because of the joint efforts of animal enthusiasts, clubs and organizations, business establishments and the Cebu government to organize various events, seminars and shows for the benefit of our little friends.

I am writing this letter with the intent to invite your Club to be part of one of the biggest animal events to close the year together with the Cebu Shih Tzu Club - the biggest Christmas Party for animals and animal lovers - Furry Holidays : A Grand Christmas Party for Animal Lovers in Cebu.

The purpose of this event is to gather animal lovers in Cebu, and together celebrate the Christmas Season. And, while enjoying the festivities, we are at the same time increasing the animal rights awareness and responsible pet ownership in the community.

The Christmas Season is the perfect time to share our joy, time and advocacy to both our human and animal friends. We are hoping this may be the chance for all the clubs/ members to get to know each other more over dinner – talk about upcoming projects, socialize, create bonds and friendship.

Participating clubs/ organizations will be provided a booth (table and chairs) so you can set up an exhibit all throughout the event date. You may bring tarps, streamers, and items for sale (living or non-living).

During the dinner buffet, each participating club/ org will be given a time to talk in front about how you came to be, your goals as a group, introduce your members, sharing of experiences and a short talk about breed. So, please prepare an audio visual presentation (optional but recommended). You may also prepare a short performance number.

Tickets to the event are at P250. Headcount over 10 people will be given a discount.

Here are the details of the event :

When : December 1, 2012 – Saturday
Where : Rainforest Park (Mabolo, Cebu City)
Activities :

– (1pm – 5pm) Free services for animals ; anti-rabies vaccines, deworming and basic
grooming
– (1pm – 5pm) Seminars and talks on pressing social and animal rights issues, pet
management and grooming, health and welfare and pet behavior
– (1pm – 5pm) Various Dog Clubs/ Organizations Booths and Exhibits
– (6pm – 9pm) Dinner Buffet for guests and participants (separate program with performers)

We are doing this in the spirit of giving and helping. The event will help raise funds for Island Rescue Organization (IRO) to continue their advocacy in helping our animal friends in need.

IRO, Island Rescue Organization, Inc. is a SEC registered non-profit organization composed of volunteers dedicated to helping the plight of animals in the region through rescue, education and advocacy. IRO’s goal is to promote responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals, rescue homeless companion animals, and establish the first rescue center and sanctuary in Cebu. IRO’s headquarters is located in Cebu City, however, there are IRO chapters established in Samar and Aklan.

With confidence and hope, we are looking not only to promote our common advocacy but also your club/ org for whatever purpose it may serve you through media mileage (print, online and audio) with your participation on this event.
