Default CLUB PUMP: Two Nights of Party with DJ M.O.D

    DJ PROFILE:

Noel Macanaya a.k.a. Master of Disaster DJ MOD

He worked his way up and took history by storm and is presently maneuvering the music industry as he gives up center stage and takes backstage producing various types of songs. Like any other successful person, DJ MOD still holds on to his beginnings as the reason for where he is now. DMC travels back in time as one figure makes a turning point and conquers himself here and beyond. Music became his lifestyle as he found his niche as lead vocals in the band group known as THE SAKE. Opportunities came like tap water and giving up did not mean losing for Noel but gaining more. Noel left The Sake and Audio Network diverting to another road…

Noel's work as a DJ at the Mega Disco gave him the avenue to experiment on scratching every night. Making the crowd go crazy and wild without ecstacy, Noel released raucous, harsh, and ticklish trance beats that kept party people awake until the wee hours of the morning.

The night came when the words that will be written were born. When Noel was disturbing the records, Roger Thatcher a.k.a. The Shadow who was emceeing brought Noel to birth as the Master of Disaster for he was the infectious as disastrous on the turntable. The way MOD destructs caught the attention of Pinoy rapper Andrew E who was the emcee of Euphoria, a most sought club in Makati back then After MOD's stint at the Hearbeat, Andrew brought him to Euphoria where he laid his hands on the turntable. MOD's impact of intensity left Andrew E rapping along and this experience has been recognized by MOD as his first team premiere exposure in Makati .

To step forward is to make way because one cannot move up without doing anything MOD did not want himself stuck into a monotonous job so when he got the chance to penetrate the music industry, he grabbed the opportunity. With all confidence and trust in his craft, MOD approached and presented his demos to Francis Magalona, considered to be the Master Pinoy Rapper. This encounter rocked the local music scene as well as the international genre. A tandem beyond professional work, MOD and Francis recorded and toured the US and Asia. MOD Produces and wrote some songs in the record-breaking YO album and this was followed by the socially relevant and awakening recond MGA PRANING under the rap album RAP IS FRANCISM with MOD as co-producer.

On March 15, 1991 , for the first time in Philippine history, artistic destruction of records was brought to the natives through the invasion of Disco Club Mix Philippines. The premier competition of the best of the best Pinoy DJs took the limelight. This event was considered to be the first and greatest battle in the history of Philippine DJ Mixing Championship because of such innovative touches of the competitors like Paul Sabong, Carlo Yalo, Rod Torres, and Omar Lacap. Towards the end of the night of the tight match, with a double disc glass trophy at hand, MOD emerged as the DMC mixing champion as this signaled his post-odyssey adventure.

    Lepalais & Hippodrome, London
He was sent to London as the first Philippine representative in the annual Disco Club Mix Championships where 50 spinners from around the globe competed for the ultimate. His odyssey continued as he toured with Black Machine who popularized the song, HOW GEE! His battle did not stop in the dawn of 1991 as he decided to defend his title as local DMC Champ in 1992. The new rule of competing with a team propelled MOD to form a three-man team known as MEGATEAM composed of his co-DJs Heartbeat Mega Disco Sonny and DJ Ouch. And for the second time, MOD redeemed his title writing in history his name as back-to-back champion

    Ministry of Sound, London
The cold wind breeze of London expected his comeback with flaming revenge in the World Finals of the DMC. The Megateam survived the elimination out of more than 40 competitors bringing them to the finals where a brood of 9 deadly teams on the turntable faced head on. Showing what Pinoy skills were all about, the Megateam landed 4th highest ever attained by a Philippine Champion up to the present.

MOD retired in competing and decided to pursue a career in music production, writing and arranging. Through the efforts of Mr. Jesse Gonzales, the monstrous rap group MASTAPLANN came to rage with MOD as a major key player. In a couple of years, MOD has produced two albums delivering hits such as The Way of the Plann, and Bring dat Booty which received much airplays because of its infectious appeal to get unto the dance floor. MOD finally realized his total interest in production so he gave up spinning records and started to produce acts and albums for rap groups like Death Threat, H-bomb, Partners in Rhyme featuring Mike Kasem and Def Sams Partners N Rhyme, Ina Raymundo, Jeremy Ima Castro, and remixes for Martin Nievera and many more....

He has forever tried to find his niche going from spinning records, to singing for a band, taking the limelight through Francis M and Mastaplann until he has faced the hard truth of letting go. But now he has moved on and found where he truly belongs. Bella Tan CEO of Universal Records has found the spirit in Noel and recognized his art hiring him to work as a house producer. With the outburst of bands and ballads, Noel's masterpieces seem to have not found its time. Towards the millennium he produced two albums for the rap group Sun Valley Crew, but unknowingly, the breaking of 2G held a lot of promise to MOD. Dance and sentimental music were suddenly filling the traditional canon of alternative and sentimental music in the Philippines . His own production unit known as KUT 5 established in 1995 comes to renaissance as MOD's time to shine unfolds.
