Seriously, the club we are organizing is not about who pencils, inks, colors, letters, writes better. It is about enjoying
sequential art and learning how to create it ourselves.

Bai, I also had a similar negative sentiment about myself a year ago (this is the reason why I hesitated to join zerk in
organizing a comic book drawing club). However, having read Drawing for the Absolute and Utter Beginner by Claire
Watson Garcia, I realized that drawing is a journey towards your own perfection. It is hard to explain it because it can
only be felt when you are drawing in the zone. I think computer and video game addicts feel the same way. They
feel no hunger, no fatigue, no thirst, not even the passing of time. The more you draw, the more objective you are
about your drawing, the more you admit that mistakes are part of the learning process, the better you will become.

So please come to the Feb 26 meeting. Hindi ka nag-iisa

@zerk: If we do not see each other before the Feb 26 meeting, please bring your extra, unused Dynamic Anatomy book on the 26th and I will bring my two superhero anatomy books I want to trade it with unless vanceloma buys them first for his kid brothers (shameless plug). In that would be the case, I have to look for other items to barter with (like Shanna The She-Devil Premiere HC Edition). (kapal ko no).

Oh please do come. I could have give up everything just to join with the comic book hobbyist but fate and time conspire against me. It's not about dorwing contest naman. It is about improving skills and fun in dorwing. I'm not a good artist, but it is not about who is good, better, or best. Dorwing is a skill. The more you invest on it, the more your interest grows. Please attend. I beg. Sniff. Sayang kasi.

just photocopy them nalang instd of bartering, thats what i do

LoL..I know. I just like "dorwing" rather than "drawing". It suggests my annoying and rebellious natureÂ* I hope the "dorwing" is not disturbing LoL

Then again, I don't mind if it's a comic drawing just plain comic club. i got dozen of graphic novels.. sayang i only read them once or twice.. I don't mind letting someone borrow them in exchange i get to borrow theirs.. but only if maayo mu-gam sa comics.

Love your idea about the comic trading/borrowing. It's a good way of being acquainted with different genres of comics. You've got my vote.
