Nope I don't think that's the reason why he is running for public office. The guy is the male version of Kris Aquino who's always hungry for limelight that's why he played for PBA even if his play is not even good for barangay level. If avoiding mendicants is what he wanted he can always migrate to any first world countries because he's got money he is welcome anywhere.

i dont think thats the reason. If you have billions worth of assets, the best way to protect it and all your interests is to gain political power. The higher the better, he already had the fame and wealth, national level political power is next.

Good point, when money talks everyone listens, but once it is depleted and sucked dry then he will just become a brown primate who hails from the orient or something.

That's very possible when you have the money but don't have the brains to sustain it. We've seen many sportsman or celebrities who were from riches to rags because they're not smart enough to keep their money. Unlike the smart ones, even if they lose all their money they will gain it back by just using their brains.
