wrong for him to make that promise and naive for people to expect him to keep that promise. taxes are the lifeblood of a poor nation. if we can't increase tax collections then we can expect new taxes or an increase in tax rates. and it is very difficult to increase collections from customs and bir because of our corrupt culture. we need to change our culture. i've seen tax returns where businessmen (rich and struggling alike) pay only 1/10 of the taxes paid by employees who earn 1/10 of their(businessmen's) real income. sucks!
