    THE LATEST

    Pargo back with the Hornets

Jannero Pargo had agreed to a two-year deal with the New Orleans Hornets. It was reported that Pargo has a $4million worth of contract with a player option on his second year.

    Artest to Knicks?

Let's simply put it this way; Artest likes to be in New York, Isaiah wants him in New York and Sacramento would love to move him. As of now, reports have indicated that the deal is on the works. Other reports have it that the Knicks are reluctant to include David Lee and Renaldo Balkman but the Kings want them. A first round pick and Nate Robinson could be okay for the deal, but the Knicks would have to include Malik Rose's contract to meet the cash terms. BUT... the Kings want to have expiring contracts only. Hence, the problem. But it can be worked out like the Boston-Minny blockbuster.

Right now. It's very quiet... really quiet.

    Lakers issue

The Lakers weren't able to land KG, so they are actually looking forward to trade talks with the Indiana Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal. So, the Lakers hand in Odom and Kwame Brown's contract, but the Pacers want Odom and Bynum. Hence, another problem. So, Kobe, on the other hand, wouldn't want to think about it that the Lakers are not doing something to bolster the line-up. Instead, he simply decided to let the Lakers do whatever they want, concentrate in Team USA and stay out of the media.

So, would it be a decent move if the Lakers give out Bynum? My answer is as good as yours.

As a Laker fan, giving Odom and Bynum for Jermaine is too much. That guy is injury-prone! He's so good because he's in the East when he moves to the west he wont be as effective.

I really do hope this pushes through and materialize, maski midseason. This would turn the Knicks into a playoff contender instantly and hopefully bring back some Big Apple pride.

    Curry
    Randolph
    Artest
    Crawford
    Marbury

Not too bad for an Eastern Conference team.

Right now. It's very quiet... really quiet.
Who knows, just like the KG deal. It died down and after waking up the next morning, KG is seen in the headlines with his number 5 Celtics jersey.hehe

    Clippers ends point guard search

The Los Angeles Clippers signed 10 year veteran Brevin Knight to a 2-year, $4M contract. The Clippers turned to the 31 year old Knight after failing to sign Steve Francis. Because of his injury background, Knight will have to undergo a series of physical examinations. The Clippers is Knight's 8th team in his whole NBA career.

As of the moment, Knight is of great value for the Clippers. Shaun Livingston is still recovering from a very serious injury and might not be suiting up for the 2007-08 season, while Sam Cassell, who was injured for the most part last season, will be turning 38 this November.

Aside from acquiring Knight, the Clippers are still considering some trades to send in some PGs.

    Cleveland Cavaliers

There are no serious discussions with restricted free agents Anderson Varejao or Sasha Pavlovic. The sides have exchanged proposals and are waiting for the unpredictable late-summer market to develop. The Cavs, who control the rights to both players, are not in any hurry to make a deal.

The Cavaliers will not be involving Drew Gooden or Anderson Varejao for any trade talks unless they get a quality big man in return. That's the reason why trade talks with Sacramento and San Antonio which could've sent Mike Bibby to the Cavs have all died down and didn't materialize.

The Cavaliers made it clear that they won't take on any guards that could and would slow down the growth of Daniel Gibson. Former Timberwolves guard Troy Hudson has openly expressed his interest in playing for the Cavs. Hudson, whose $12M contract was bought out by the Timberwolves, is willing to play for an NBA minimum with the Cavaliers.

Any rumors regarding sending Golden State's forward Mickael Pietrus are not serious, and in fact, the Cavaliers are not in pursuit ofPietrus as of the moment.

As for the coaching staff. Mike Brown is doing some finer adjustments with his coaching staff and is still looking for a replacement after assistant Kenny Natt left for Sacramento.

Lakers inaction leads to another Kobe reaction

Kobe voicing out didn't motivate the Lakers, and now, their inaction didn't make him happy as well.. As usual.

First, Kobe was disappointed about the Lakers for not jumping into the Jason Kidd deal which could've sent the prized Nets' veteran to the Lakers. Everything went to worse after both Kidd and Bryant played along during the USA Team scrimmage. Kidd has openly said that he's thrilled in playing alongside Bryant.

Second, Kobe questions the Lakers ability to build another championship team. He wants Jerry West back. Kobe is not demanding for any trade for now, but if the Lakers can't send back the title winning team architect West, he wants the Lakers to better ship him somewhere else. A new slogan for the Lakers: "Kobe wants to be traded unless West returns".

Of the trade talks that surfaced that involved the Lakers, most of it included Andrew Bynum. The rumored Jermaine O'Neal trade would cost the Lakers Kwame Brown, Brian Cook and Andrew Bynum and the Jason Kidd trade also included Bynum. Other than Bynum, the other "big" trade rumor that the Lakers turned down was the Ron Artest-Lamar Odom trade.

It's pretty clear the Lakers intends to keep Andrew Bynum. They are probably grooming him to be their next "big thing". After all, the Lakers has a legacy of centers. As for Kobe, nothing drives him more than another championship ring, or his own championship ring without big daddy Shaq.

    C -Curry
    PF -Randolph
    SF -Artest
    SG -Crawford
    PG - Marbury

ON paper, they look really good. Very good. I just hope, if this materializes, they put their heads together and win games. BUt there's always a possibility two of these guys might end up in a boxing match or a royal rumble. Like:

    Randolph vs. Artest
    Curry vs. Artest
    Artest vs. Crawford

There's nothing much better than having a bad boy on a team.hehehe. Just like the old Detroit Pistons with Laimbeer and Rodman, Chicago with Rodman and Detroit with Rasheed Wallace. They all ended up with championships.

Who knows, New York will be Artest's home to finally have his ring.

    rumors...

Frustrated Kobe Continues to fume for Lakers not able to get Jason Kidd at trade deadline...

Just understand this, in lieu of Bryant telling you himself... If he was boiling about the Lakers for not jumping at the chance to get Jason Kidd at the trade deadline, he's now at the stage where the water has evaporated and the bone-dry pot is scorched and rattling, after having a firsthand taste of what playing with Kidd is like at the Team USA minicamp last month. His directness did not go over well, so now Kobe skirts questions about his Lakers future. Kidd was an absolute wonder during the three-day training session and equally thrilled about playing with Bryant..

OH yeah! Mao sad na ako gi-huna2x. Defy the referees, the rules, the plays and instill some horrifying feeling to the opposing teams. It would be alright for me to brand them the New York Knuckleheads but, who knows, they might be the ones who will kick the high-expected Boston Celtics' butt.

Anyway, the Kings-Knicks have been, reportedly, talking to come up with a legitimate trade and Jared Jeffries was a "centerpiece" of a certain trade proposal. For me, that's good baya... a young SF with a knack of a stiff defense. Pwede sad si David Lee, but I think sayang ang iya hustle and rebounding.

So, overtime, we'll just have to wait for it, just like the Kevin Garnett trade, to materialize... or not.
