I was on the tail-end of my teenage life pag abot nako diri sa States. It's not that bad at all.. the only drawback is that they check ID's and I couldn't buy alcohol. Pero other than that, di man la-ay. Di man lisod ang transition ug kabalo lang ka mangita ug amigo. Naa ra gyud nas personality sa taw.. ug introvert ka, mag sige lang gyud kag tan-aw sa gawas sa bintana.

I am an introvert but I have no problems at all about living abroad. If an introvert can have fun by himself in Pinas, an introvert definitely can find something worthwhile to do while abroad. It really depends on the person's ability to be flexible, and to recognize the fact that life is precious and therefore, should be celebrated every single day, no matter where we are. When I was single, ako2x ra man mag laag2x, without barkadas. I had a lot of fun times spent in the library, exploring the sights and sounds of a new city etc etc

The thing is, mapa introvert or extrovert, basta kamao lang ka mo adjust, ug kamao lang ka mo lingaw2x sa imong kaugalingon, payts na kaayo.

Pero syempre, I still long for Jo's Chicken Inato! yum yum yum mingawwwww

Dorothea - Lahi ra gyud ang style sa mga taw - Ug ako, I can never imagine myself having fun spending time in libraries or walking around town all by myself. I don't see that as a remedy sa kamingaw, although mao lagi.. different strokes for different folks. Good thing that it worked for you. Pero most introverts have a hard time adjusting - mao nga mag sigeg ingon nga pait diri kay mingaw, etc.. and they end up having a killer phone bill kay sigeg panawag sa Pinas (I guess dili na ni mo apply karon `cause of SKYPE, YM, etc...).

I don't see that as a remedy sa kamingaw, although mao lagi.. different strokes for different folks. Good thing that it worked for you. Pero most introverts have a hard time adjusting - mao nga mag sigeg ingon nga pait diri kay mingaw, etc.. and they end up having a killer phone bill kay sigeg panawag sa Pinas (I guess dili na ni mo apply karon `cause of SKYPE, YM, etc...).

One cousin racked up almost $400 sa iyang phone bill one time, kay sige panawag sa iyang uyab sa Pinas. Gastos kaayo ning kamingaw oi. Pero sakto ka, different strokes for different folks. Depende pud sa lugar kung asa ka mapadpad. Ma imagine nako unsa ka lonely kung naa sa Middle East, since medyo restrictive ilang lifestyle didto. I admire those people nga naka antos ug puyo didto, it takes sacrifice gyud.

indeed, our family is inspiring...if not for them i would have stayed in cebu and ma contento lang ko sa akong gamay nga sweldo...there are a lot of ways you can do to make your life fun and not boring...its really up to you how to find it...you must learn to adjust to different cultures and traditions...its true that you'll miss what you have been used to but there are alternatives...for me i buy myself things that i like and have not bought when i was still earning my meager salary and say to myself that had i not decided to work abroad maglaway lang jud pirme sa akong gusto...hehehehe...but keep it modest and learn to be frugal too...balance lang...save jud if you are working abroad...enjoy and cheers
