Grammar.. whats the use of your accent if you dont have proper grammar..
You just answered your question... Grammar it is...
Grammar is taught and most likely Accent is acquired..
People acquire accents in their native tongue, but that doesn't mean they have the proper grammar that goes with it.
Funny.. Sometimes they are really bad in spelling words and creating sentences..
I didn't ask the question... the thread starter did.
""Unsay lisod tun an?" . Accent or grammar?" < this was the thread starter's question.
My answer to his/her question is a few posts above yours.
I agreed to your statement when you said: "whats the use of your accent if you dont have proper grammar.."
But I don't agree that GRAMMAR is harder to learn. Reason is - you can learn proper grammar. It's actually easy. But, to train yourself to speak with an accent you're trying to mimic, it's not as easy.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
This truly depends on the person.
For instance, there are people who are academically challenged but are very good or say very skillful in mimicking sounds. These types of people will definitely say that they are well of learning Accent over Grammar.
On the other hand, some individuals are having hard time twisting their tongue to produce the sound/s they wish to imitate. However, they are mentally ready to learn and apply what they can read about. These types of people may find that learning grammar can be easier than the daunting task of learning accent.
I am having hard time learning grammar myself; However, I am really good at mimicking accents.
SAM - I agree some people are good in mimicking accents.. But! only to some extent. I have yet to come across a call center agent from Pinas who can fool me into thinking that he/she is based in the U.S.

For me, mas lisud jud ang grammar kaysa accent. You need to learn its basics for you to be able to construct your message well. Ang accent ma learn raman na nimu mski gani mag wat h lang ug movie kay maka learn ka.
You bet! I agree with you @EZRA, I didn't mean that when someone is good at mimicking, he/she can definitely mimic all. That goes the same with learning grammar. You may still have lapses at some point. One way no one is indeed perfect. We may strive harder and learn more, but perfection in such a broad genre such as language is next to impossible.
