system restore is backing up registry also and shall be rolled back to previous state. i have tested that with couple of viruses, checking the registry after of any residue strings but none.
system restore can even roll back registry edits from beta or alpha softwares, drivers, and even the non-plain uninstallable directx.
how can a virus leaves residues where it never been there before when the restore point was made?
it even cleanly restore my system from the buggy service pack 3 of xp. and thats a big file with full of registry editing. no way a virus can go level with registry changes with that.
