guys, take note it's not a CRASH-FREE BIOS.

so even if u have the flash utility & BIOS file for that mobo, there's no way u can re-flash the BIOS on that same mobo 'coz its BIOS firmware had been totally erased and so the system cannot boot to DOS anymore...

the only hope to revive that dead BIOS is to re-program it using EEPROM programmer, or u can have me reprogram it nalang here in my shop...

If its a crash free your last resort is:

Try paslaki og diskette containing the Bios .BIN file and the flash utility file, only.

upon booting.

this guy is from manila, so my advice try hot flash as last result for this problem, a little bit tricky and will you be electricuted if not careful enough

i have sort of the same problem but i didn't update the bios but i did tinker with it a bit.. and now if i on walai beep then wala mo display sa monitor.. as in nothing...

here's a simple trick for corrupted bios-es...

first up, it would be more convenient if your board's bios chip is NOT soldered (instead, it is mounted in an ic socket that is soldered to the board). otherwise, this solution isn't for you.

second, you need access to a bios chip from a WORKING board that is the same as the one you have (at a minimum, the bios should come from a board almost the same features... and same chipset and bios maker). the bios chip must not be soldered to the board, as we will be swapping bios chips with your problematic board.

third, make sure bios chip of the 2 boards are the same (so that they are pin-compatible and you don't fry good bios chips)

patience, and lots of it.

if you have the above 4, try these steps:
1. extract the bios chip from the working board
2. get some thin, non-conductive, strong string and tie it around the bios chip. make sure there is some string left so that you can later pull off the chip using it
3. insert the bios chip (with string tied around it) to the problematic board's bios chip socket (make sure you insert the bios chip correctly and properly)
4. power up the board. at this point, if only the original bios chip is corrupted, the board will post
5. with the power still on, carefully pull out the bios chip using the string you tied around it
6. carefully place the corrupted bios chip back to its ic socket
7. use any software utility to re-flash the bios (the install cd that came with your board usually has this tool and a bios image)
8. follow the flashing instructions
9. switch off or reboot (depends on what tool requires) your pc AFTER flashing process is done (usually, a message on the screen indicates the process is finished). if you reboot or switch off your pc too soon, repeat step 1

i personally did this to boards that had their bios corrupted for whatever reasons and success rate so far is 100%.

UPDATE: my computer is running fine now... i just pulled the battery out and placed it in again.. (wala mai CMOS ang akong board p4ge-vm) hahaha
