Still almost impossible for a foreigner to invest in the Philippines. You need to be married or in big business. This restricts foreign investment in your country and this means that employment does not grow as fast as it could. I cannot own a business 100% if i wanted to invest. I would have to let a local be 60% in charge, even if it is all my investment and capital. And no one in their right frame of mind is going to do something like that
I know a large amount of 'foreigners' that stay (legally) in the Philippines would love to buy property but cannot!! This means they rent, which means instead of providing work for architects, builders, painters distributors of building materials etc etc, they pay cash to someone for rent who probably does not declare it meaning taxes are not paid!!
Every country in the world has travellers that outstay their visas, passports, the US, the UK all over Europe. It only happens because it is allowed to happen. You already have a two tier system for hotel prices, one for the locals and one for tourists. My g/f can get a better deal than I can, so I let her book all the time, especially in Davao. Your hotel prices are still a lot cheaper than anywhere else i have stayed!!!
They must come to the Philippines because the product they desire is readily available. That in turn means that the local people are providing the underage girls and the pimps are paying bribes to the local authorities to allow them to carry on with this trade. I'm assuming it is illegal in your country to pimp underage girls? If this is the case it must be the locals breaking the law in providing this service for foreign travellers. If the supply is there, demand will follow. Cut off the supply and no paedos will come to your islands. If you catch them then throw away the key for good as far as I am concerned or cut off certain parts of their anatomy!!More foreigners, more flesh trade, more pedophiles, more abusive alien, more corruption.

You are right foreigners cannot own their business and properties in the Philippines thats why they use dummies.they will use filipinos partners as their dummies a very wise strategy.Nice advice for the maniac aliens. Maybe it's time to cut their tail out and throw them back to garbage where they are supposed to be!
I don't know of many, if any at all, and I know an aweful lot, of foreigners who would use a dummy to open up a business in the Philippines as there would be nothing to stop the 'dummy' partner from running off with everything. Trust me, we are not that stupid. I know a lot of people, me included that will not build our own houses in the PI for the simple reason that we cannot own them. That's a lot of money, and a lot of jobs that are being lost. Why do you call us maniacsYou are right foreigners cannot own their business and properties in the Philippines thats why they use dummies.they will use filipinos partners as their dummies a very wise strategy.Nice advice for the maniac aliens. I've been visiting for a number of years, never broken any laws, I put a number of my relatives through college and look after their family. I help out with a charity in the PI both financially and with labor
Says a lot about her options does'nt it!!! Maybe they find more love and trust from a 60yr old foreigner than a twenty something local What's wrong with our country anyway, it seems like an aweful lot of OFWs like living here and don't want to go backSeems like you are also a foreigner.Maybe in some aspect you are right .filipinas grab the opportunity to marry a foreigner not for love but for financial stability.how could in a hell an 18 year old girl marry a 60 years old alien for love?
well, that is not quite true. of course, those things are to protect sovereign interests, but a foreigner could already be 60% to 100% owner of any domestic business except those in the Foreign Investment Negative List (FINL).Originally Posted by freeheeler

Child trafficking for labor, prostitution, pedophilia, and pornography is illegal in Phils. But our gov't still needs more efforts in controlling them...yes you are right. cut off the supply and the demand will dwindle.Originally Posted by freeheeler
