^^^ Agreed. IMO Duncan is more important to the team than Robinson was. People became better around Timmy. Right now he's even being named as the best power forward EVER. Think about that.

The Admiral lived in a different era of NBA basketball where flair and individual play thrived(although MJ's Bulls and the Jazz were worthy exceptions then)...Recently, there has been more emphasis on team play with the influx of many European-bred players into the NBA like Ginobili(he played in Italy) and Parker, making a fundamentalist like Duncan thrive in team offense
duncan for me, but robinson the veteran is good too.
Tim Duncan for me
Timmy!
It was Tim who gave Robinson his two rings.
I doubt if Robinson could lead the Spurs to Championships without Duncan or with Duncan's role players now.
i think tim duncan, coz tim duncan won more awards than david , and david only won an nba championship with duncan by his side![]()
David Robinson. individual wise Robinson was the better scorer. 71 points in one game.
member of the Original Dream team.
and MVP award.
yes i remember that season it was on 1996 -97 where he got injured wa gyud ayo spurs.
My pick is Tim Duncan, David Robinson did not win a championship during his peak, he was voted MVP but was outclassed and outplayed by the better Hakeem Olajuwon during the 1995 play-offs. Dennis Rodman was very mad at him because he showed no heart during the crucial game 5 and 6. But upon the Tim Duncan's entry, after 1 year they were champions against the smaller New York Knicks, then again against the much smaller New Jersey Nets, even after the Robinson retired, Duncan did it against defense oriented Detroit Pistons then last year against the inexperienced and surprise finalist the Cleveleand Cavaliers (the most boring finals ever). Tim Duncan is the best power forward in the NBA today, his moves were very simple, when posting up and no double team he'll just simply bank his shot, if doubled team he'll pass or just simply drive to the basket.
dave was a freak of nature. i should say he was one of the most athletic center i have ever seen. but i think he lacked the fire/desire that needed to win a championship. and it was sad to see him retire a bit early due to injuries.
anybody remember this?

however timmy might not be the most athletic but he compensates for his footwork and fundamental skills. a very cerebral player.
its hard to compare these two players since dave is center while tim is a pf and they have different playing styles.
