data transfer thru wireless internet... but if file transfer to your fone and pc/other fone, no epek na brod...

its like a condom in your wallet...its better to carry it with you when you need it you have it rather than need it and not have it...

advantage...faster cheaper data access...video call...streaming...mobiletv...etc. etc. etc. etc. too many to mention...
disable it if you dont want it...enable it if you want it...with newer 3G phones, switching from one to the other takes but a few seconds...no need to reboot phone

disadvantages...price of handsets are bit higher (but not by much)

the thing here is that most 3G phones are actually hot these days... but its not a need... hmmm,... NOT YET! i can even go with a 6600.. And ive also noticed that most owners of 3G phones hindi naman cla nag vi video call eh... added expenses kasi..

video call has the same rate and charges as an ordinary call...for a long time it was actually FREE to make calls over 3G via video calling...now they charge just the same as ordinary call...not a cent more...so in that respect its not an added expense to 2G voice calls...

besides 3G is more than just video calls...

yeah, video calling for globe has the same charge as regular voice calls. So ako, whenever I call people with 3g phones, I normally try the video call option first. Anyway, if he/she has no 3g signal, the call would automatically be converted to a voice call.

sa ato cguro dli kaayo need ang 3g; but just a luxury. but for business users who want fast data access, 3g is a must. 3g's main use is not for making video calls but it was created so that we would have faster data access. for example if you need to access the internet on your laptop and you're not near a wifi hotspot (mobile ka), you can use your phone's 3g features para naa ka hispeed internet access. it just so happened that because of the faster data transfer rate, kaya na ang video call niya.

true...best get a smart prepaid for it 10pesos for unlimited use for 30mins...very cheap!

btw, i hear globe is trying to match smarts data service soon...
