Been using this mboard for one of my desktops...it's okay for a mobo, provided that you aren't into overclocking and all that stuff...
If you're budget conscious, i'd pick this mobo for stock settings..

master...unsa mn imo masulti ani nga mobo??
So far, it's hasn't given me any problems...everything seems fine... but then again, it's just 3 months old...and the setup i'm using on this one isn't really heavy (no vcard - just a basic home desktop for normal word processing).
Kung kuwang ka budget, go for this, ok ra man, basta you take good care of your board...
Sa mga nag-paasemble og PC nako, dili nako hatagan ug dili lig-on na board (Research sa net... Nya experience pud).

anyway, the life of your motherboard still depends on how you shall take care of it. unless you shall be passed by a bad luck.
i dont know how much is that EMX-AMD690HD of Emaxx but I have found their boards lower in costs. Try asking local stores here. Anyway, you can do order if its unavailable.

I recommend gigabyte though, proven na jud na nako, long life jud, nya daghan pud features ang board, although around 5K ang board na 690G.
Around 5K ang 4400X2 sa retail karon. Dual Core man na, 2.3GHz.

pardon, im not a seller, im a user as well as a computer hobbyist.
anyway, if your budget is 2.5k so go for the EMX-MCP61S model. it costs 2.4k in pcquickbuys. i just bought 1 unit recently and performing better than my ECS and MSI(same chipsets) which might due to its solid capacitors, and its temperature is cooler. two memory slots are already enough. just put 1 or 2gig memory to sustain your usage.. 2gig memory is already more than enough for your purpose.. putting two identical 1gig memory modules on its two slots enables its dual channel feature that pumps up more performance.
