i think the main problem is the traffic scheme............ the 2nd bridge hawan kau.. ang 1st bridge.. ng huot.....
if tunnel.. ms expensive.... ms risky....

sa 1st bridge naa gyud factor ang number of lanes. but, they don't have to make a new bridge for that. instead:
for lapu-lapu side, they should make it so that vehicles leaving the bridge on this side has a thru exit, dili kay a few meters from the bridge's foot, STOP light dayon. THRU traffic, if not near thru.
for mandaue side, vehicles coming from lapu-lapu which will most likely make a stop after exiting the bridge should ONLY use the slow lane(right lane) and should never step on the fast lane(left lane), only thru vehicles should be allowed to use this lane. or better yet, PU vehicles should be restricted to use the fast lane since they're bound to make a stop every other second.
on both entry to the bridge, we can't do anything about it. it should go as it is today, from several lanes to one.
no question on the 2nd bridge, the first corner with that stupid traffic light scheme is the problem.
dili gyud bridge ang kulang. implementation of correct traffic scheme ang wala sa utok sa taga traffic division or whoever's responsible. my 0.02.
It is possible to have the third bridge... that will be sole used for cargo and public MRT/LRT/(whatever RT) mass transit rather
than another all used bridge... samok lang gihapon... :mrgreen:
