which flying school do both of you belong?
just curious? is their a private teaching facility here in cebu where you can learn how to fly, get a license and not ripping of your pocket? murag over the weekend study?
how much? where? what are the requirements and terms?
Kamikaze:
I'm doing mine at Avondale College School of Aviation, NSW, Australia.
kloos: none that I know of... that's why I came over here to do mine. I think in Cebu, you have to do all the theory stuff first before hopping on the aeroplane. Kamikaze might know more about that since he used to be in the industry for quite some time.

thanks alot xxx. can you help me kamikaze?
try to inquire at the following:
1. Cebu Aeronautical Technical School at Salinas Drive Lahug, they also have a hanger at the General Aviation in Mactan Airport. I graduated over there way back 1991, and have been teaching in BS Aircraft Technology from 1991 to 1996.
2. Indiana School of Aeronautics at Basak lapu-Lapu City. they also have a Flying course. thge head of the Maintaintance department is my classmate. i was also able to teach there for over a year.
3. Go to General Aviation and look for Flight Dynamics, i yhink they are still in operation , i hope.
As fornthe cost, for now totlly have no idea. but before i cost like 2000php per hour on a Cessna-150. cvost much higher if training on larger plane like a four seater cessna-172. There are also multi-engine planes. hell cost a lot more.
the Rotary wing Helicopter is about 20,000php per hour, yeeeeeks, what a drain !
if planning to flying with minimal expense, i would suggest fininsh a four year course and take an examination on the philippines Air Force, and you will be flying for free. My classmate passed the exam and the smart ass choosed to fly Nomad multi engine... so that he can fly C-130 Hercules, guess what, he now a captian in C-130, and when he fininsh the ten year contract with the airforce... hes goin to resign and fly commercial airliner... well remember cant be a pilot of a commercial aircraft if youre rating is on fighter jets.
on suggestion though.
Kamikaze: would those above mentioned schools teach you practical flight even without a 4-year aeronautics-related degree?
