Transformers the Movie Deluxe Figure: LONG ARM

I never intended to collect movie figures but except for a few which includes this homeboy right here. It didn't help that a lot of collectors are praising long arm to be a very good figure to collect. Not to mention that it fits well with my Classics collection and it was dscounted too.

Long Arm never appeared in the movie in his bot form. He did however appear in his Alternate form where he assisted Mikaela and a legless bumblebee in battling the Decepticons by towing bee.

    THE PACKAGE:

    OUT OF THE PACKAGE:

    Tow Truck Mode

Long Arm has pretty good Tow Truck mode. I like how wide he is, although my complaint is that his wheels lack detailing , he looks too low to the ground and despite the with he’s a bit undersized for a towtruck. It would have been nice if he sported bigger wheels. The Label on the side is says Orson's Towing not Mike's Towing in the movie. Maybe as a tribute to Orson Welles ? Unicron's voice in Transformers The Movie (animated)

    Comparison with my other bots

    Bot Mode

Personally, Long Arm’s bot mode is one of the best in terms of articulation. He looks very solid, wide bodied like a football player especially with his manacing looking face plus he’s got one big bad azz gun. The irony is, that in his profile at the back, he says he wants to help and seems like a peace loving bit but he does have a menacing look to him that says otherwise.

The thing with long arm is that his hands are not close fisted and five fingered to hold a gun like most Transformers, his is an open hand or palm with three fingers. The gun is screwed to the hand….which is a bummer but easily solvable by unscrewing it. You’re prolly wondering…that by unscrewing there is no way long arm can hold that big azz gun….ehhhhhhhhhh WRONG!!! He still can hold thanks to a peg on the other side of the gun that can be attached to the other hand.

    Fun Shots

    The infamous Kick Test

    Double handed

Since he is well articulated plus he has the open palm….

“The moment of truth…..” (Karate Kid)

    Comparison with the other bots

    Pros:

    1. Solid bot mod
    2. Solid alt mode
    3. Big azz gun
    4. Well articulated

    Cons:

    1. A bit undersized
    2. Lacks details on the wheels
    3. Should have said Mike's Towing on the side instead of Orson's Towing

I give this a     out of

The Transformers Movie Scout Class Elita-One

In the G1 genre, Elita-One is the upgraded form of Ariel, who is romatically linked with Orion Pax a.ka. Optimus Prime. In line of the live action Transformers Movie, Elita One was released as a repaint of Superlink Ariel or Energon Arcee. This is prolly the first time that there is an actual Elita One toy for general public release although the idea was always pondered upon by Hasbro. This is also the 7th or 8th time this particular mold was used (I think).

    PACKAGING:

    MOTORCYLCE MODE:

    No Weapons:

    With Weapons:

Attaching the weapons will make Elita One's wheels not touch the ground thanks to plastic protrusions that raises it off the ground. Some trimming may be needed but you will need to be careful since those protrusions are important in forming her weapon.

    Comparison with Classics Bumblebee:

She's a bit oversized for a Motorbike but I'm more interested in her bot mode.

    BOT MODE:

I personally dig the female autobot form in this particular mode. However again, that plastic protrusion where you attach the Energon Star makes it looks like she has a pot belly or she's on her Third Trimester. Heheheh. Plus her chest profile makes it look like she has sagging boobies hehehehe . Although she has articulation at the shoulders, thighs, knees, wrists, neck and elbow. These are somewhat limited since they are swivel joints with the exception of the shoulder, wrist and thigh joint.. The Head sculpt is more reminiscent of Ariel

Another gripe is that her hands are too small.

    With Weapon:

The weapon is actually a long bow. It’s simply too bulky for Elita. It also limits posing her with it. I also reversed the exhaust pipe that comprises the upper and lower limb since I personally find it better than following the norm.

    FUN SHOTS:

    Archery pose:

Being the first female bot that I opened, she sure gets a lot of attention from the boys. They sure were fast in checkin' her out.

Rodimus: Normally gals with sagging boobies and big tummy is a major turn off but heck, we don't have a choice.

There can be only one. Although prime may look like a Pedophile or a tall basketball jock with a petite other half. mweheheh

Unfortunately..she can’t do the infamous kick test because of 2 reasons:

    1. Small footbase
    2. Limited articulation thanks to the thighs getting in the way of the hips

But the articulation is enough that she can do this though……(some sicko’s wet dream hehehehe)….

“Prime sweetie, don’t leave me hanging! Drop those guns and c’mere and gimme some sugar!!”

    DA GOOD:

    1. Very female looking
    2. Bot looks generally good
    3. Decent price.

    DA BAD:

    1. Small hands
    2. She tends to look like having a big tummy or preggy
    3. Can’t do kick test especially with limited articulation thanks to the thighs
    4. Oversized bow
    5. Bow parts interferes the wheels touching the ground in Motorcycle mode.

    I give her....

G1 fans know that Air Raid was one of the Aerialbots. Ironically his alt at that time form was the same as that of the original seekers...the F-15 eagle.

For the live action Movie toy series, he’s released as a scout class redeco of a redeco of the Skyblast of the Energon series. Skyblast was already redeco’d initially for the same line however Hasbro decided to release another redeco of the same mold with a twist. It is to be noted that the Energon Skyblast did not have any repaints till the TFTM series.

    THE PACKAGE:

    VEHICLE MODE:

I never really wanted to get this guy but when I saw him being locally available and saw his unique color scheme….I immediately grabbed him and the other scouts (victim of impulse buying again heheheh) . Just looking at him in this mode, his color scheme is unique among Transformers. Sure there are a lot of TFs with the camo look but having that camo look pixelized or digitalized (I call it digital camo) now that’s a different story. Aside from that he has also the markings of S7.

Oh yeah before I forget, his alt mode is a flying wing type jet.

    No Weapons:

    With Weapons:

I’d prefer having him with weapons since makes him more intimidating. But it sould have been nice if the weapons were in digi camo too. I personally do not like putting the energon star in this mode, doesn’t look good IMHO

Size Comparison With Other TF Jets:

Size wise, the difference isn’t that bad

    BOT MODE:

Nothing really to write home here, he’s small. No Articulation at the knees. Air Raid has limited articulation at the elbows and shoulder since they are swivel joints. You can move the head side ways thanks to its gimmick, which is twisting the tail or chest area will rotate the head into place….neat! It would have been great if it was ball jointed. He tends to hold his head up high. It would have been nice if the gray parts were also digi camo or at least in black

    Size Comparison:

    FUNSHOTS:

The weapon can also be configured into a spear/javelin or a Zanza sword

    Kick Test:

    Passed!

G.J. JOE SIGMA 6 NINJA HOVERCYCLE BY SNAKE EYES

Snake eyes uses a dual-mode hovercycle that has been custom-designed for him. The NINJA HOVERCYCLE has extensive modifications for optimum performance under demanding conditions. In motorcyle mode, it has a super charged, sound-reduced engine to make it fast and silent.

The bike comes also with S.E.'s additional Weapons

    1 x RFB System
    2 x Tonfa Swords
    1 x Whip-star
    2 x Detonators
    2 x Daggers
    1 x Projectile

only set back about this toys are the weapons.. with its color (dull gray) it makes it look like more of a toy than a display piece.. good thing, the bike itself has less parts with the same color..

The bike has built-in customized ports that hold ninja weapons to keep them in easy reach when Snake eyes faces cobra ninjas during a covert mission.

    Detonator storage

    Whip-star storage

    Ninja daggers storage

    Tonfa Swords storage

    RFB Storage

Customized connector to attach tonfa swords and rapid fire burst system to vehicle to get it ready for a mission

    GIMMICKS:

NO 1: Snake eyes can quickly convert his bike to a hovercycle that has a cyclone-gravity cushion for swift air access.

there are two buttons that transforms the bike to hovercycle ( 1 - front; 2 - rear part )

    more pics in hovercyle mode:

NO. 2: This thing actually fires its projectile!

launch button is situated just alongside hovercraft conversion buttons

The best part of this toy? I never thought it would be at scale when posing with my Female Figures:

i seriously think this bike is more suited for her than of Snake Eyes .. hehehe

Armorhide was originally released recently in the Cybertron or Galaxy Force series. He was repainted for the 2007 Botcon as the G1 Autobot Huffer and now this is the third incarnation of the mold. The reason why I grabbed him was that he does resemble Huffer.

    THE PACKAGE:

    OUT OF THE BOX:

    Cyber Planet Key:

Insert this key and it will activate a gimmick, which again is predominantly from the Galaxy Force or Cybertron toy series. The funny thing is that Armorhide for the TFTM series is an Autobot undercover with S7 as you can see on the front part of the key however it has the Decepticon Symbol at the back. Bah Hasbro being lazy and using cost cutting methods again.

    Truck Mode:

In the G1 series, Huffer transforms into a semi truck as well, although a bit smaller than Optimus Prime. In this case, he is still a semi truck in black and yellow, however he has a crane at the back plus a logo of S7.

Comparison with a Classics Voyager Class Ultra Magnus.

    BOT MODE:

Armorhide’s bot mode is a bit unorthodox. Normally I’d see the cab portion right side up however for him, it is upside down. He’s the smallest Autobot among my current collection. His crane also becomes his rifle. He looks a bit sinister due to his color schemem which is a far cry from G1 Huffer’s personality. He has one the bots that has better articulation among the scouts however it is limited since it is mostly hinge type joints.

    With the Cyber Planet Key:

Inserting it, the front grill opens up with nasty missiles.

    Comparison with the other Autobot:

He is currently the shortest especially with the scouts.

    FUN SHOTS:

    Kick Test….Passed!!

    PROS:

    1. Decently Priced
    2. Has a good gimmick
    3. Looks Kick Azz as a bot
    4. Decent Truck mode

    CONS:

    1. Limited Articulation
    2. Could have had better articulation at the shoulder, elbow and knees
    3. A bit small for a truck and bot

Skyblast was originally released under the Energon line, there were no repaints of him until this guy came a long. He is the 1st repaint of this mold by the way and the 2nd repaint is the Scout Air Raid in which both are scout classes in the Transformers Live Action Movie line. Skyblast was part of wave 2 in the scouts line while Air Raid was in the 3rd wave. Both were supposed to be Target exclusives but still ended up locally.

    THE PACKAGE:

The layout is pretty much the same as Air Raid’s

    JET MODE:

As what I mentioned in Air Raid’s review, Skyblast looks like a flying wing. Similar to Air Raid, he also has a camo scheme but this time he has the desert look. Which IMHO is also attractive, although I would prefer Air Raid’s version.

    Without Weapons:

    With Weapons:

One thing that disappointed me is the translucent weapons.

    With Air Raid’s weapons:

    This looks better IMHO.

    BOT MODE:

If you read Air Raid’s then there is nothing really different with this figure. Articulation is absent at the knees and limited at the shoulders and elbows. The figure’s color scheme looks pretty nice and militaristic except for the Energon weapons.

    Borrowing Air Raid’s weapons:

    Looks nicer and meaner IMHO

    Comparison with Air Raid:

    Both look equally good.

    FUN SHOTS:

Kick Test…if you read Air Raid’s review then you’ll know he will obviously pass

    PROS:

    1. Decent Price
    2. Well executed desert camo
    3. Well accesorized

    CONS:

    1. Limited articulation
    2. Small esp in bot mode
    3. Energon weapons should have been black

Wheeljack in the G1 genre is an Autobot inventor. He is responsible for the creation of the Dinobots. He is also one of the first bots that appeared in the G1 series especially in episode one where along with Bumblebee stole some Energon rods. His alternate form is a Lancia Stratos Turbo Group 5. Believe it or not, only 492 Lancia Stratos were ever made (all configurations)...a little trivia for ya.

Now that I'm collecting TFs again especially the Classics line, I wanted bots from the other line that has a similar look to the G1 in both modes. This one was the first to catch my attention. This find was a bit tough since this was already out of production and luckily, one of our fellow members from Davao, Ramesh D. traded him for one of my extra Barricades... thanks bro. Oh yeah, in Energon he is Downshift. IMHO this version is a whole lot better.....why? Read on. For reference click click on the link below for Energon Downshift's review in Seibertron

    http://seibertron.com/toys/gallery.php?id=175&size=0&start=0

    THE PACKAGE

    Documentation:

Wheeljack also came with a Japanese mini comic just like the Energon toys, Instruction sheet, a profile card and a warranty card of some sort just like some of my Zoids especially ones that are limited Editions.

    Car Mode:

Wheeljack looks like a car that has the profile of a 2000 Mercedes Benz SLK convertible. Aside from the color scheme similar to the G1 version, his Gull-Wing type doors open. He rolls pretty well. However I have two complaints. One is that his rims on the left rear side was replaced by the energon plug kibble and not to mention that the red tinted headlights and windows are tacky. It would have been nice if it were just clear plastic.

    Comparison with the others:

He is in scale with the other cars, but if you’re looking at Wheeljack in relation to real life cars or passing him off as a 2000 Mercedes SLK convertible. He looks a tad too big.

    BOT MODE:

This is the reason why I wanted him in the first place. His bot mode is the closest you can get to a G1 Wheeljack. The black parts isn't exactly black...up close it's really brownis, however the reason why I prefer him over the Energon/Hasbro version is because if looked at at it, the gray parts are replaced by "puke green" parts. I only wish this WJ had blue eyes but again no biggie. Ramesh told me that this guy had die cast parts. I refused to believe him till I got him. This guy really does have die cast parts especially at the chest area. My major complaint in this mode is that he lacks articulation on the lower appendages especially at the upper thigh or near the hips. It can only swing sideward, it would have made a difference if it could have swung forward. It was a bit of a letdown on my part. The only other complaint is the translucent red weapons. It would have been nice if it were black.

In Comparison with my other classics

    Fun shots:

    Kicktest…..PASSED

    PROS:

    1. Great looking alt mode
    2. Similar G1 looking bot mode
    3. Came with a good number of weapons
    4. Die cast parts
    5. Gray parts instead of “puke green”

    CONS:

    1. Energon plug Kibble
    2. Upper thigh cannot swing forward
    3. Red translucent headlights, windows and weapons

    I give this....
