nganu diay dili mu ganahan ug mga SELL OUT NA BAND?

selling out has something to do with compromising creativity and ethics for personal gain, in this biz, money and fame. dat really defeats the purpose of making music. but most ppl equate CHANGE with "selling out"...i mean if they hear a band change genres, esp. the poppier kind, they proclaim na "sellout" na tawn. depends lang sa situation, on the band and circumstances. we may call the band diffrent names, but let's just respect them kay ilaha sad na.

common reasons are; naay members na diffrent ilang overview sa ilang band, now that they made already it big; other is kulang ug fundings or kulang sila ug exposure to support thier albums; sum other members well live the band for personal reasons and d na sila kta ug ikapuli mao na disband: and etc. pwo ang pinaka common sa tanang common reason kay magaway2x ang mga member coz there are 1 or 2 member na badlongon...

appreciate sa ilang effort oi! nagcompose gud na sla ug music for several days or months plus praktice para limpyo kaau ang outcome

regular reader man gud q sa circus magazine before ka2ng updated pa ilang issues, always amn gud q makabasa bout sa bands na ila rate ug sell out after making big hit then nawla ra sa music scene...

Ask lng ko k tingai lahi imu pagkasabut sa "sell-out" ba k mrg disband mn imung direction - tungod diay sa imu nabasahan na majority na gi-label na sell-out k disbanded na. Connected btw pd imung opinion kung mao na k ang pangutana k nganu d na gnhn ang mga tao kng mu-sell out ang banda - so kung d na gnhn k wa na kaau mupalit so for some bands, disband nlng sila. Diha tingai makita ang mga "tnud-anay" jd na die hard sa ilang music na bsan "sell out" na ang tanaw sa mga tao k padayun jpn sila k mao mnjd ilang gnhn na itukar...

what bugs me is mo sikat lng ug kalit pero puro revival ang sulod sa ila album...
and what bugs me the most that this generation--na naka dungog sa ila kanta--thought that it was original pinoy music... irrrrrrrr.....

LOL, mao... Abe nila original... I think I blame the record company for this situation too cause I think that these specific artists can make their own songs. It's just that the recording company all ever think about is money; and since these songs were already hits - then it's a sure fire that it'll click with the masses again if revived.

If you start catering to the public instead of doing/making what you really wanna do/make.. changing your sound just to sell your records and concert tickets, get famous/popular, etc.. .... that's selling out.

Pero it doesn't necessarily mean nga tungod ang banda sikat nya mainstream, sell-out na dayon sila. Misconception gyud ni sa uban mga taw. They'd say.. uyyyy, sikat naman ni sila.. sell out mani. Pero what if that's their sound on the get go? Mao gyud na ilang sound in the first place, na timingan lang nga maoy hit rong panahona. Preha sa Pixies sa ilang panahon.. same time when bands like Pavement, Fugazi, and others came out. They never changed their sound since they started making records pero they got really popular, dili ra sa ilahang scene. Do you think they sold out? How about The Jesus and Mary Chain - Scarlett Johansson got up on stage with the band and sang back-up to one of their songs. Did they sell out when they did that?

Naay uban mo sulti "aguy, ni sign man sila ug major label, they're selling out" .. it could be true to some bands pero di tanan. Naa say uban nga mo refuse gyud ug sign ug major label kay against their principles... I also respect that. Pero do I look down on those artists nga ni sign ug major label but stayed true to their art and sound? Nope. `Cause I don't think they sold out.

Let's face it.. tanan taw nanginahanglan ug income. And there's a lot of starving musicians out there.. great but starving musicians who relies on their day job to pay for their equipments, recording sessions, etc... a record contract would make their job a lot easier.
