Songwriting Tilt
The British Council Philippines together with the Office of the Ombudsman is launching an anti-corruption campaign anchored on a songwriting competition with the theme "Building a Culture of Integrity and Excellence."

The competition is open to amateur and professional songwriters. Each entry should include the following: accomplished entry form submitted either to the British Council or as registered on-line; song on CD or tape labeled with the entrant’s name; and the song title in black marker and lyric sheet.

Preliminary screening will be based on melody, composition, originality and lyrics. The Top 10 entries with the highest scores shall move to the grand finals. Composers of qualified finalists will be asked to work with musical arrangers and vocal interpreters of their choice. Final form of the song will be recorded in a CD and distributed to radio stations. Entries will be given equal airplay beginning April 2.

A separate panel of judges will be invited to the grand finals. Songs will be interpreted live. Judging will focus on songwriting and performance. Criteria are music and melody (40 percent), substance and lyrics (40 percent) and quality and impact (20 percent).

Deadline for the submission of entries is on March 3. The grand national final is scheduled on May 12. For details, log on to www.britishcouncil.org.phor call 914-1011 to 14.

my friend invited to go to a free "concert" featuring bisrock bands last saturday sa parking lot sa gaisano tabunok...cans oemone fill me in with the details of that event?was not able to go man gud

actually not all of the bands were bisrocks Konigs play Hip-Hop, Zone3 play punk music, Blackstar played their own type of music medyo naay pagka classic heavy metal ila sound, Forgotten Knights played rock & Roll and Heavy Metal music, Cassiopeia played screamo music.
