I think you also need high Video card.. for 3d.. memory could only speed up your data transfer.. video card gyud siguro angkailangan nimo for any grapix apps..

naka try naman gud ko 3 gig among memory but still dugay ang rendering.. and also sa 3d max.. but g change namo ug 1g nga memory.. tapos g loweran nalangnamoang memory ug 2GB ram.. after ana ok na.. pas pas na.. hinuon dili man ako nag gasto company man.. hehehe so ok lang.. hehehe wala sad ko kabaw kung tag pila..

for 3D rendering :

*THEN - u shud be using an AMD , its way much fater than intel in this aspect..OPTERON
* NOW - u shud have the C2Qs

* Videocard for 3d apps : Matrox pharelia. ATI fire GL. Nvidia Quadro Pro/ Fx - mahal au!

for 2d apps : 256mb is more than enough, but higher end cards will help the pc in redrawing the images.

but higher than 2gb system RAM is very helpful.

2GB is already enough for 32bit OS since you're limited upto 3.XX GB only. what if, your using a 64bit OS? are you going to limit yourself to 2GB only? hehehe....

i'm a power user & 1 gig is more than enough...

i open 4-5 tabs in firefox, ran torrent, scan/update spyware & virus on the background..
& sometimes convert videos while browsing it won't even pass 800mb of memory usage..
if you don't maximize your memory usage(ie disable start up & unnecessary services/tweaks) then it would easily get past 1 gb except for games which is dako jud consume sa memory...

encountered many people who doesn't know about computers except open browse & type spreadsheets their memory usage easily exceeds more than 1 gb...

2005 - 1GB will be the standard ram size
2007/8 - 2GB
2010 - 4GB

for now, i\'m currently satisfied w/ 2GB [2X1GB] ram since right now 2-4GB ram per stick is order basis..
