    i agree w/ you.

    to: thread starter

-if your planning for stock CPU setting only go for AMD. buy if you consider OCing your rig, then you will end up w/ intel.

I would have gone to AMD if it wasn't for the great saving when I bought a refurbished C2ds being sold here. Hehe.

intel is also for HC gamers bro. AMD is just cheaper/weaker (for now). That's the only difference. C2D is really good for gaming, considering the small price gap (and easily 20%-70% performance gap), w/ AMD procs, you'd ought to buy Conroe.

Intel's stock setting are quite fine, they even beat AMD's. AMD is just so damn cheaper than intel, and AMD would be a good buy.

(nope, i'm not an Intel fanboy.)

    2nd choice:
    AXP x2 5600+
    MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H

As you know I reallt not into pricey mobo since i'm just a starter.
    both Mobos OC pretty good.
But DFI is better and has a raw power FSB to boost the E6600
I'm also considering AMD option since AMD is more superior in terms of processor architecture and Oh Phenom is going to be compatible with AM2.

    Your suggestions are appreciated.

dba am2+ mn ang phenom? but mo run japon siya sa am2 pero limited lng.. right?

sad old news. it's a myth anymore.. read more...and have for yourself how intel had stomp their ground..

    THEN : 96% of LAN Party attendee uses AMD ( A64 /64Fx/Opterons )
NOW : 97% of LAN Party Attendees uses INTEl C2D/C2Q which can easily achieve higher performace will simple OC at stockheatsink fan.

present reality..AMD is for BANG FOR BUCKS!..not games......

    to the starter..

if u can have the 6000+ / 6400+ for the price of an E6600 and wont OC..go for AMD

if want performance for the price of 6000+ and wants to OC..go for INTEL E6600

    its no fanboyism...its smart buying!

" Our test systems demonstrate pretty similar results in typical office applications as well. Core 2 Duo processor family is again faster than all the competitors. Any processor with Core microarchitecture and 2.4GHz+ clock speed is faster than any solutions on K8 or NetBurst microarchitecture under all types of workload"

    gaming : http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...hootout_5.html

" You remember that we have always recommended the solutions from Athlon 64 processor family as the best choice for gaming needs,
and this conclusion was absolutely justified by the significant performance advantage we could see over Pentium 4 and Pentium D CPUs.

Now the situation has changed dramatically. The new generation Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors are on top of the charts when it comes to performance in most contemporary games.
The top solution from AMD, Athlon 64 FX-62, gets defeated not only by Core 2 Extreme X6800, but even by less expensive models such as Core 2 Duo E6700 and Core 2 Duo E6600. As for the Pentium Extreme Edition 965, this previous generation CPU designed specifically for top gaming systems, turns out slower than even the youngest Core 2 Duo model – the E6300. "
