if you ask me regarding chances, YES, there is. but if you ask me regarding "great/big" chances, uhm... in reality, i think not. crediting the opinion of dylanyer77, testers usually do UAT or end-user testing. this type of testing does not require much technicality that would help you in your developer aspirations.
BUT if you're really motivated and determined (preha ra ba na sila?) to become a developer from a tester, there is a big chance for you. just make sure you do more than you're required. going beyond the mile. doing your homeworks. self-something things.
why am i saying this? because, that is what i lacked and tapulan ra pud ko para mgexert ug much effort to be a developer. hihihihih... am a CompSci grad. trained to be a developer.pro wa jud. ako nalang daun "excuse" kai being a tester. at least, related sa technology... sa course na ako gihago-an.
hmm... pro now that being a tester requires scripting skills labi na kung mg-automation na mo ug testing, murag musabak napud ko ani sa pagka-semi-developer. tsk. sometimes i love the challenge, sometimes alingasahan ko. intawon.
OT na daun ko. bow.

wala ba ninyo gi consider ang basic QA tester ... I think kanang mo test lang for bugs and UI problems before rolling it out for production use?
@Mark .. lol but for discussion sake ... lets fire up this thread again ..heheheheh
ALONE:Hated and Punished
so what is the level of expertise sa programming needed for test engineers?
Para nako to the Testers nga really like to be a Developer, I think start sa ug SCRIPTING or Automated... daghan Programming languages karon so better mo-focus lang ka sa 1 language aron dili mag-libog ang utok sa pag-study...
naay chance ang usa ka tester... sa Company side lang tanawon, daghan companies mo try to find developers within the company.

hmm.. naa chance mahimo full-time developer ang mga software test engineers/testers.. mu-develop man gud ug test tools na gamiton sa testing sa mga products.. so, partly developer ang mga software test engineers..
there.. my first post in istorya..![]()
