PLDT and globe lines should be separate physically if you want a dsl from another ISP/TELCO... The DSL modem (customer) connects to the DSLAM (ISP) where the multiplexer exist and dsl lines separates from other signal. Just imagine you have given an ip address(public) at the globe dsl and your line is pldt... hehehe. I can't imagine that....

THe solution is providing another dedicated line...hehehe

still it is possible but probably the main reason why it is not happening here in pinas is because these companies refuse to do so!!! remember the early days of texting?!?!? you can't send any text to a different network. same ra na dire.

@juantamad: It is very possible, it has been done in the US ever since the Telecoms Act of 1996. That is what you would call line sharing DSL technology. It encourages competition and presents consumers with more choices.

For example: I have Verizon as my POTS (plain old telephone service) provider, Covad as my CLEC (they have their own equipment in the telco's central office), and I can have Speakeasy/AOL/EarthLink/etc. as my ISP.. your ISP connects you to the rest of the Internet, provides you with additional services such as webmail/dedicated technical support/etc.

Sorry but i can't really understand in a technical way of thinking those technology... Coz i'm in line of networking area mn gud... And It seems so hard for me to understand the real infrastructure... ANd besides i am basing here in the philippines... and they are different situations here like they can't merge dsl from different POTS/PSTN company into a one...

Ex: like PLDT, a telephone company with a dsl service also... globe also a telephone company w/ a dsl service...

I hope you get my point...

thanks mga bro, recently got a globe broadband with globe landline. so far, it's working well, and i hope it remains that way. the globeline that goes with my broadband is almost half cheaper than my present PLDT line, which will be cut off soon.

OT: You are right, your knowledge is indeed limited to Philippine infrastructure. So stop saying things like
