well, we all know dat cebuanos are d best critiques in d phils. and very hard 2 please jud...dat's y mga banda sa cebu gnahan jud mopakita sa ila music coz they know wut r d cebuanos standards, mao na basta mga taga cebu, mau jud na manukar kay tag as man ug standards!

there you go. you said it well DamneD. but precisely tungod kay maayo kaayo nga musikero ang mga taga cebu, kinahanglan nga they (our musicians) should be well compensated. walay question sa pagkaartist sa cebuanos, manukar na silag gig bisag way bayad tungod for them it's all about music. they can't help themselves if they are genuine artists. now, ang problema sa tinuoray nga artist is that bahala nag gutomon siya, walay sulod ang pitaka, basta for the love of music, okay siya. saludo ko ana. kana ang tinuoray nga artist. apan ang nakangil-ad kay daghan kaayong mga tawo nga mo-take advantage ani nga realidad (event organizers, bar owners, managers kunohay, etc).

mao lage bay, daghan ko kaila na manukar for the love of music, not for the greens, and most cebuano musicians are like that...i remember kad2ng nag screening sa sonata sa cit...mga banda na mu screen gahulat jud gkan 12 hang2d 3 sa hapon..kay 3 pman nasugdan...and most of them have their own tune and their own style..mga kamao sad...bahala gutom basta ma share lng ilang abilidad ug ilang music..mao na'y BANDA!

the philippines is one of the countries where rockstars are poor, talented, genius but dirt poor, poor as a rat. kining talent sa mga musikerong cebuano kung sa gawas pa ni, sa US pananglitan, dato na kaayo sila.

u have a point there bisdako. i am a band member. we've been playing underground since 1997 (damn, i'm too old for punk rock!) thing is money just don't motivate us and it just so happen that we (my bandmates and i) all have regular jobs and we are aware of the reality that some of the bars here who cater to alternative (not mainstream music) music can barely afford to open everyday how much more pay for the bands? and some event organizers do give talent fees to bands especially if it's a big gig. like plan B and super X although the band themselves were not even expecting to receive a talent fee...

we're in a point in time where the non-mainstream music scene that we have here in cebu is still struggling to be accepted by the general alternative living public (i don't think "masses" would apply here) and it comes down to economics... they just can't afford to pay all the bands (although we know well known bands that we share the stage with are getting paid and we're not) and from what i know the bands here doesn't even give a damn if they're getting paid or not. as i said it's for the love of music...

and i thank god for that(and you should too) coz if all bands here in cebu ma ngita gyud ug kwarta every gig or required gyud tanan bars mu pay sa mga bands then you can say bye bye to our tiny struggling music community.

and gotta admit... dili gyud kaayo mu kita ang mga regular lang na gigs (bar gigs without sponsors). di man sad maayo para sa scene kung mu close ang the likes of handuraw dba? so premature pa kaayo ato scene to be thinkin of getting paid every gig.

Got your point dude... We play music for the love of it, Although there are gigs na we really can earn something but not regular swerte na if bayaran hehehe. I'm in a band since 1997 and because of work and studies i never quit writing music even without a band. Even if ingun-ana ang Cebu i'm really proud of what was happening in the music scene here it's getting better and better. Sauna man gani sa Ethnicos naa mi bayad inig tukar pero mahulog ra ug wala ang bayad tungod sa beer hehehe alkansi man gani kay mosobra ang beer. But really it was fun being with a band. I never regret I'm in a band. I guess what I feel is the same feeling that most of the artist in music here feels. I miss our mabolo street jamming near shoppes 24 with PG18, Blow Grass, Antonios Madness, Freak, Etc. those were the days na we play for beer and comraderie

mao jud...it's not about d money...not about those economic stuff...it's about the passion and the music we all want to share...

thats the reason why cebu scene is way different from other scenes in the philippines because bands here in cebu play not for money but for sheer love of music.

<b>TUMPAK!</b> hehehhee sakto jud imo gipangsulti xtian... it's so damn hard here sa cebu.. coz if we do pay all the bands noh hala ei mura sad tag dato dah! like us? naglisud man gani mi ngitag sponsors coz daghan pangutana and all.. then usa pa kay lisud ang pangitag mga audience kay gusto FREE permi coz sad to say poor and tihik ang mga taga cebu.. unlike in manila.. mo gawas jud ug money.. so mao na.. lisud jud kung magpabayad tanang banda... dili tah gamhanan diri.. kami mismo mga organiers naglisud but we try our very best to help bands.. bisan ug beer or food ra amo mahatag atleast naka tukar sila... and besides diri sa cebu? basta lang makatukar sila ug makitaq ang mga smiling faces sa mga audience nila lipay na sad na sila... they just want to be heard jud.. and share their talents... cebuanos are simple people.. mao ng lahi ra jud ta sa uban.. heheheheh basta i hope we all continue to support all our local bands haron makuha na natoh atong gusto na makahatag ug bayad sa mga banda.. hehehehe kinsay gusto mo sponsor diha nyahahahah... \m/
