Just like @amaw, I am also a newbie but unlike him I am very serious and interested in posting stuff at the buy/sell/trade section of this forum. I also agree with @n’gel and @xyberblue re asking for membership fees for whoever posts at said section but I hope Mods can find a way to implement guidelines where both buyers and sellers are protected coz this is a gray area.

I’ve been doing transactions selling laptops in Cebu for a couple of years now and so far I haven’t had any problems so far (knock on wood). These are some of my suggestions for both buyers and sellers: sellers usually have the right to choose the time and place, if a prospective buyer wants to check a said item and wants a demo then choose a very public area ie food courts, coffee shops in SM and Ayala or any other mall located nearest you. lunchtime and anytime after 5pm would be a good time doing these transactions since it’s at these times where the crowd is heaviest . It would be of great help if you have a bank acct in any of the banks located in those malls so you could deposit the payments automatically (iin this case lunchtime would be perfect since banks close at 3pm). But the most important thing of all, bring 2 or more of your most trusted buddies coz this would deter somebody who have bad intentions in pushing thru with their plans. These are not fail-safe ideas but it’s a good start.
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

the privelege I was talking about is the pm access.....
As for the buy and sell, like omad had said, there's a gray area in this aspect....if there is a membership fee, then in any transaction made through here, that would automatically made istorya as a third party, or something like a middle man, thus, istorya could be partly liable if things would go wrong...... a name and address cannot guarantee somebody to be a legitimate businessman....(all of us know nga pwedi ta makakuha ug cedula anytime under a different name.)...If something goes wrong(especially if the media is getting involve), Securities and Exchance Commision can use istorya as a scape goat....kay naa lagi membership fee.
Whereas, if there is no membership fee, istorya is not liable on any transactions.

Istorya can generate income for maintenance through advertisements and istorya mementos(t-shirts, key chains and all those stuffs)....

    ....just my thoughts.

Yup, that's what most moderators said too amaw, what's "Terms and Agreements" are for anyway ngano gud tawng ma automatic man? Membership? I don't think we will require a very expensive membership fee. Pwede ra gani P10/year, this site has been here for years and wala gyud na nangayo ang mga admins ug contributions from members, in short, kaya ra ni nila buhion ang site lols.

The membership thing is only for formality and recording. The best thing to be a member is for a seller to be vouched by a moderator (which I say won't be easy). Kung naay specific "Terms and Agreements" which states clearly that Istorya is not liable, not part of any transaction, that we only provide legit information about each seller through their membership, kung walay ingon ani sa Internet gubota kaha sa? Mao nay purpose ana niya mga dodong.

I don't know if you're familiar with link exchanges between well-ranked sites in google. The website who lists those links are not liable for any content, for the products, etc. and all, ang ilaha listing lang.

Same with this, Istorya is venue lang. Dili na ihinanakit ang membership fee kay dili mi mga nawng ug kwarta mga bai. Ang atoa lang, malipay tang tanan diri. Mura baya sad mo'g active members uy, nga manud raman sad mo diri para mamaligya, why should we care too much for you? Di man gani mo mangapil ug outreach then daghan kaayo'g say basta hatagan na rules. At least ang mga C.I.A's kaila na mi ana nila, kamo wala. Mga newbies pa then daghan na kaayo ikasulti? Kaalegre sad ninyo uy.

If you're really a newbie wala siguro ka ka notice complaints about nangailad and wala gyud silay habul sa seller kay wala silay even "full name", walay "address" I know gamay ra kaayo ni nga butang, pero at least ang seller katultol siya asa siya moadto para dad.on iyang tropa para kulatahon tong nangilad niya. Hahah ahaks.

And dili sad mi motabang niya pangita nuon, ang amo lang, naa mi records about the seller. Still we're not part sa ilang transaction, sila man duha gasabot, wa mi labot. As long as naay restriction "terms and agreements" nga naa sa BS forum ma avoid na natong apil-apilon mi.

Bantug kay newbie lang mi, we can't say anything or we only have limitations to comment on issues? Unsa gud diay ni diri?

As I previously said, wa koy interes mamaligya o mopalit diri (I am more of a traditional person, I want to buy items at hand, not through the net).

We(I specifically) don't want to be cared, I got a lot of folks looking after me.....If we(again, I specifically) were not able to attend those outreach projects, it's because I am justÂ* a new member here, and I am not in Cebu.

If somebody gives comments on something, that doesn't mean that somebody is on the negative side, it might mean that somebody is looking on the bigger picture and is just exercising his/her right to be concerned as a member.

Don't give conclusive comments right away, just because we are newbies.

easy ka lang ma'am...... ang puso mo.

Hahaha iakw maoy easy, wala man diay ka namaligya aw di to para imo ang akong post. Baya nagtuo man sad siya ako pasabot, atong giistoryahan diri mga spammers and how to stop them from spamming, and mga mangingilad sa BS. The fact that you're a newbie, wala pa ka kadungog ug mga actual nga problema aning naa sa BS. Yah you're point is taken, didn't I address it? Yaw taka-taka diha ug sulti "easy²" kay kalma rako.

... and both your points are well taken into consideration. kindly get back on track so we can formulate a viable system for these problems that needs to be addressed.

    Just a suggestion.
To dispel any doubts about Mod's / Admin's bias, we can probably have a FAQ that states these guidelines, or is it possible to inform each new user beforehand about these rules right after registration?
